{"id":6371,"date":"2012-04-24T10:37:07","date_gmt":"2012-04-24T09:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/?p=6371"},"modified":"2013-02-03T15:09:26","modified_gmt":"2013-02-03T14:09:26","slug":"and-now-for-something","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/and-now-for-something\/","title":{"rendered":"And now for something&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;completely different.<\/p>\n<p>After all the excitement about the release of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.featuringmagazine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">FEATURING magazine<\/a><br \/>\nI spend the weekend with my mom at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poeziefestival.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\">poetry festival<\/a> in Landgraaf.<br \/>\nIt was nice to be away from the computer, talk with my mom and the<br \/>\nother poets (I know most of them from former meetings), take a long<br \/>\nwalk in the Limburg hills and listen to poetry.<\/p>\n<p>Being away for the weekend means that I didn&#8217;t manage to finish my<br \/>\nweekly page in the Chronicles (I hope to work on it this afternoon)<br \/>\nbut I have something else to show&#8230; &#8217;cause I&#8217;ve been working on some<br \/>\nsmall &#8216; in between works&#8217; and I haven&#8217;t showed you those pieces yet.<\/p>\n<p>This is the birthday card I sent to my friend <a href=\"http:\/\/sixliliesstudio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lena<\/a> a week ago<br \/>\n(of course I also sent her a present along with this card.)<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t do these kind of collages and bright-coloured pages much<br \/>\nlately and it was fun to just fiddle around, choose happy colours<br \/>\nand doodle a bit. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/04-april2012-lena.jpg\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6372\" title=\"04-april2012-lena\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/04-april2012-lena.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"646\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/04-april2012-lena.jpg 646w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/04-april2012-lena-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 646px) 100vw, 646px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<pre>Materials used: scrapbooking (patterned) paper, border and image\r\nof young birds cut out of a magazine, doodling with puffy paint\r\nand black &amp; white sharpies.<\/pre>\n<p>I also worked on another &#8216;Letter from the Wasteland.&#8217;<br \/>\nI find working on these letters is almost like meditating (not that I meditate,<br \/>\nbut I presume it comes with the same feeling of &#8216;being in the moment&#8217; with<br \/>\nnothing else on your mind.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Letters from the Wasteland &#8211; 5th letter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/07-wasteland-letter05.jpg\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6373\" title=\"07-wasteland-letter05\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/07-wasteland-letter05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"651\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/07-wasteland-letter05.jpg 651w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/07-wasteland-letter05-217x300.jpg 217w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 651px) 100vw, 651px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<pre>(Size: 16 x 11 cm - 6.3 x 4.3 inch.)\r\nMaterials used: gesso, acrylic paint, 'template' sequin waste,\r\nwashi tape, left over paperscraps, strips (text) from a fairytale book.<\/pre>\n<p>I hope to have some more free time this week to get my hands dirty<br \/>\nwith paint and ink in between tweeting and &#8216;facebooking.&#8217; FEATURING<br \/>\nmagazine daily presents <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Featuringmagazine\" target=\"_blank\">sneak peeks on facebook<\/a> of the articles in the<br \/>\ndebut issue and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/Featuring_Mag\" target=\"_blank\">we tweet<\/a> about it a few times a day.
