(“Oss” is a village in the Netherlands…)<\/p>\n

Some of you asked about the book title haiku… and how I find them.
\nI find it in fact easier to compose a book title haiku then to write
\na haiku myself. Anyone can do it – really, YOU can too!<\/p>\n

Because I have no art to show you today, I thought you might like
\nto know how I make my book title haiku.<\/p>\n

First of all: you need a lot of books.
\n(Ha, you didn’t feel that coming, did you?)<\/p>\n

I happen to have a huge book collection.
\nThis photo of my book case is taken a few years back – I have to admit
\nthat today the ‘book case boxes’ are filled from top to bottom and it does
\nnot look as organized anymore…<\/p>\n

You have to take some time for the next step.
\nTake a notebook and view your books from top left to bottom down.
\nJott down all the titles that have 5 or 7 syllables.<\/p>\n

(This took me about an hour. I looked only at the books in the living room
\n– there are book cases upstairs too but I left those titles out, as they are
\nmost technique and study books)<\/p>\n

Make two long lists.
\nOne with the titles that have 5 syllables (seen on the left) and
\none with the titles that have 7 syllables (seen on the right)<\/p>\n

Now the fun part starts! Puzzle!!<\/p>\n

Combine titles left-right-left (5-7-5)
\nThe more titles you have on your list, the more choice you have.
\nI made myself the promise that I cannot use the same title twice, so
\nI mark the titles that have been used. Finding haiku will get more
\ndifficult the farther I go, but for now the choices are many so I probably
\nhave some weeks\/months to go before I run out of nice haiku.<\/p>\n
