Hidden talent

Let me tell you about my son’s hidden talent….
’cause I got my (belated) birthday present from him this week.
And you know what?

He knows exactly what you always wanted to have but just never knew
yourself that you wanted…. but HE knows, and he buys it for you
and when you get it you go like: “how did you know I wanted this?
I didn’t know myself but now that I see this, it was my wish to have this!”

I got the “Book of longing” from him!
It’s written by Leonard Cohen and it collects Cohen’s
poetry written between the 1980s and the present.
“It also includes his wonderfully witty and sensuous
illustrations, including numerous playful self-portraits.
The illustrations interact with, and complement, the poetry
in unexpected and fascinating ways.”

This is such an inspiring book – it’s almost like an art journal!
Thank you Nout, for giving me this. I love you 1.000 kisses deep!

OK then, on to bussiness ’cause it’s Friday, and you know what’s
happening on Fridays, don’t you?

The One Ring
on Sunday Morning…

I always have to giggle when I make up the titles for my posts!
It just happens so that if I place the titles of my layouts together,
nine out of ten times a new title is born.

Yes, I have two layouts to show you today.
Both made with Harlee Quinnz Designs papers (from two different lines.)

Here’s the first:

Horrifying story

Image this:
One day you wake up and and a blur spot has appeared in your right eye.
You ask your partner if he/she sees it.
He/she looks into your eyes but doesn’t see anything…

During the day, the spot in your eye grows.
And grows.
And turns from blur to pink to red to black.
In less then 34 hours, you can’t see anything anymore with that eye…
you’re blind.

You go to
the doctor.
You have to
have surgery
right away.
You go to
the hospital
and they stick
a needle
into your eye…

That’s my dad’s story (the short version)
I wrote that down here.

And I wrote down the (long) version in my Art Journal…
(I warn you for a horrifying picture!)

…you were the loveliest thing that ever happened to us.
And you still are”

Ain’t this the sweetest words to hear when it’s your birthday?
My parents wrote this on the birthday card I got from them!

YESSSSS, I told you I would wear a birthday hat today!

So here I am!
Older.
Wiser.
Happy.
Spoiled…
