(Warning: picture overload!!!!)
Good morning you all!
Today is queensday
in the Netherlands
and although the sun
isn’t shining, I will
spend the afternoon
outside trying to score
some useful goodies
on the giant flee market!
For you foreigners
who have no idea
what “queensday”
in the Netherlands
is all about, and for
you Dutchies who
want to have a good
laugh… you have to
have a look at this!!!!
(but you may want to watch when your children are out of the room!!!)
And the first photo in my post today shows the tree in our front yard
bursting with blossom.

Saw it on Patty’s blog: “Magpie’s Nest”
“repost your 10th blog post”
Sounded like fun.
So I went back to December 2008
and WOWH…now THAT’S appropriate to repost!
(since my son goes to the University this year and all..)
Here it is:

Does your layout ever fail?
Just curious… ’cause although I have “better” and “worse” layouts,
I almost never feel my layout failed completely –
but this week, I did!!!
I promised you a page for my Leonard Cohen art journal (I was half way
when I said that) but…. the page failed miserably!
It was too bad to show, really… so I TORE IT APART!
And look what happened…

Remember my last blogpost?
I wrote about all those Ning-communities starting on the Internet lately.
A few hours after I wrote that post last Friday I received an e-mail from
Rachel, the founder of the “A Year in the Life of an Art Journal” group.
Here is what she wrote:
“I just recently found out that ning will start charging all users who
use the FREE networks, and so we will be moving. I am working to get
all my ning groups moved to Facebook, I’m sorry for this inconvenience…”
So no more ning-groups…
WAIT…
…did I read that correctly?
Facebook??!!!
I stayed away from facebook.
I never wanted to join.
I have enough communities and blogs to visit already.
I don’t need more “friends” and chatting…
I don’t have the time.
BUT…
Well. I gave in.
I don’t want to loose my “Art Journal group”
So now I’m on facebook.
*sigh*

Last week, I received an e-mail with an invitation to join a new scrapbooking
(challenge) community. It’s called “The Color Room” and after I checked it out
and lurked for a while, I joined in. I found a lot of my online friends did too,
so I felt right at home! Here’s what “the color room” says:
“Do you want a new challenge?
Something to whet your creative appetite?
This is just the place.
Here in the Color Room we strive to push your creativity through
new inspiring colour palettes, sketches and tutorials.”
Check it out here if you’re in for new (colour palette) challenges!
I never played
challenges like this
before – palettes
I mean, so it was
quite a challenge
for me! (The sketch
that comes with the
palette is optional)
These colours are
“sweet & girly” and
that’s so NOT me…
but I like to push
myself a bit so I
decided to accept
the challenge and
went on with it.
I pushed myself even harder by making a 12×12 layout
(I don’t do much of those lately)

I’m sorry I am so late with writing my post today,
were you waiting for me already?
I had a busy day – not much freewheelin’ for me –
but I am here now and I got some things to show you!
