The ring my mom took off…

Thanks for the nice compliments on my “symbolic rings” layout (see
former post
) And thanks Lena, for pointing this out to me:

“Oops… I just caught you telling a little lie…
Your mom did take off one of her rings.
The one she bought after chapter one.
She gave that one away to the winner of a little witch contest.
Guess who that winner was…
Yep, my dd Carmen and she still wears that ring!!
(send you a pic later!)”

Lena is right, my mom DID take one ring off…
I found the old pictures of the book presentation (October 2006)
so here is another “little witch story” for you!

..

..

October 14th 2006 the book “Little witch girl” (Het heksenmeisje)
was presented in a bookstore in Middelburg. The local newspaper
had written an article about it in the week before and invited all
children to come dressed as witches.

Here’s my mom reading from the book.

..

Tiram, head of the local witch circle Nestnerab, was invited to attend
as a juror. She brought her sorcerer’s apprentice Tuon with her.

..

There were a lot of little witches and they all looked wicked!

..

And here’s the winner, the best dressed witch was Carmen!
And yes, she received the ring my mom bought after finishing
the first chapter of the book.

(Sorry you have your eyes closed on this photo Carmen,
it was the only photo that showed the ring well...)

..

Look at this little witch glowing with pride!

..

Lena send me this photo, her daughter won this
contest four years ago but she still wears that ring.
The ring my mom took off!

..

This was a story about “long ago and far away…”

On to today’s stories…
week 36 in my weekly art journal!

I love that postcard of the kissing “Zeeuwse” (lady in costume from Zeeland)
I had that one lying around for years! I received the (rounded) photo of the
“modern Zeeuwse” from my soul-sister Lenny this week.

Yes, I received happy mail!
Happy mail not always contains a lot of supplies you know,
happy mail is also the postcard I received from Lenny.
(my friend, my muse, my sister, ma French belle!
I wrote about Lenny here)
A little “Zeeuws” in it, and words that warmed my heart.
That’s the best happy mail there is!
Thank you so much ma belle, you will hear from me soon!

..

Now on to the wicked world of writing, there has some job to be done.
I wish you all an enchanting week, see you Friday!

Je t’embrasse.
