A special meeting

Hello my FEMALE friends!

Yes, I’m almost sure you are all female… do you think men
would write a post like this one, about hair and hairdressers?
And do you think other men would  comment on that with their
own experiences as much as you all did? Ha, I don’t think so!

So goodmorning, my straight and curly haired female friends,
I’m glad you stopped by again! (And if you happen to be a male visitor,
you’re very welcome too! No talking about hair today, so come on in!)

What DO I talk about then?
Well, for instance, the meeting I had yesterday.

..

..

A while ago, Thinkie send me an e-mail that on September 20 she would be
in the neighbourhood. She asked if I’d like to meet with her somewhere
and we agreed that I would pick her up at the station.

It’s weird to meet
someone you only
know from the
Internet.
I recognized her
from the photos
on her site.
Because we read
each other’s
blogs it was like
meeting someone
you “know” and yet
“don’t know” at
the same time.

It was a funny feeling, kinda like meeting a familiar stranger.
The weather was marvelous yesterday. We sat outside, had coffee
(hot chocolate for Thinkie) at a terrace and talked a lot.
I didn’t bring my camera because I was convinced Thinkie would
bring it. And ofcourse she did! (Thanks for the photo dear!)

She also gave me a cute little card – which you will see popping up
in my weekly art journal next time!

..

And there we are again: weekly art journals! Who’s started one?
I know Peggy did, and some other women were talking about it.
Well, come on you gals, just START! I highly recommend fiddling
around on a page, try techniques, write a short (or long)  text about
what happened that week, glue all the pictures you like in it and play
with it in a spare moment between cooking and doing the dishes…
(Yes, I keep my journal and my pens in the living room so I can grab
it if only just for a minute!)

Here’s my page from last week: week #37

I LOVE the big postcard my parents send from France. I got it on Monday and
I decided to make my pages for this weeks in “grey area”. It was partly because
Marsha from Tumble Fish Studio had a challenge about it too, but I knew
already I wouldn’t make it on time. The deadline was Saturday and I always
finish my pages on Sunday. But still… I went with the grey theme on this page.

I used tape to attach the postcard. I wrote a nice quote on the page
which becomes visible when you flip over the card.

..

If you start your own (weekly) art journal, send me a link and let me know!
This week is as good as any other week to start one!
I would love to see what YOUR pages look like!

..

I wish you all a beautiful week!
For the Dutchies; enjoy those few beautiful sunny days that the weather
forecast promises we will have this week!

Don’t forget to hop on over to Thinkie to see me smile in her blogpost too!

Hi Marit. Been a hectic week, but wanted to see what you have been up to beside encouraging all us Let it Loose members. =) I have met some friends in real life that I met online first. They are the greatest and it seemed like we knew each other forever. It’s amazing how the internet brings people together who may not have met otherwise. So cool. I love that picture of you two. Hope you are having a great week. I’ve been busy with work and will try to take your advice on getting some creative time in. a little here and there. Thanks for the inspiration. =)

How lovely to meet up with an online friend! 🙂

Love your b/w journal page! Looks really interesting despite the lack of colour! 🙂

  • Irma Says:

    hele lieve groetjes – Irma

  • Dani Says:

I love meeting people I “know” from online, but I’m always so nervous because you just never know, you know?? It is like meeting a familiar stranger!

Love the journal page, the grays are so pretty!

  • Annemarie Says:

Ah, yes. Thinkie told me you met. How exciting. I remember when Peggy (mirsupeg) and I first met after 2 years of communicating through Scrapblog, Blogger and Facebook. It was as if we had known each other all along.

I have not started an art journal, but instead, I have started leaving posts on Good List Daily (look it up) I think if I save these. They would make good entries on a Weekly Art journal page. We shall see. One thing at a time.
