Here’s where it begins…

Tuesdaymorning, and I’m about to write the first post on my blog… pffff.
Spend the last week creating this blog and going through my scrapbookalbums to select the pages and taking pictures of everything I wanted to put into my weblog galleries. I really want to thank my beloved Marius & son Nout for all the help. Thanks guys, for sharing my enthusiasm, bringin’ in new ideas and helping me out with those galleries!

As of this moment, I’m online! I’m part of the web! I can talk to all those scrapbookers out there! Yes, I know you’re there because you all were the reason to start this blog in the first place. Well, uhhhm, actually it started with looking at scrap-challenge blogs and getting so exited that I wanted to play along. And I did, I dared to send a lay out to scrapmojo challenge #24 and my work was put in their slideshow!!! Mojogirl Marie had to do that for me though, ’cause I hadn’t a blog or online gallery… The first seed was planted!
After that, I began reading personal weblogs where all you scrapgirls publish your thoughts and projects (by the way, are there any male scrapbookers?) I loved it! And so that’s sort of where it all began…

In fact it started much earlier… after all, it always starts with the wish to create and I did just that since childhood – create! I still have some tiny little books I made when I was 17. I always liked books. Wanna see?

As long as I can remember, I read and I wrote, just like my mum (she’s a writer) and made my own “books”… little one’s like the ones in this picture, diaries (private!) and I started a novel a thousand times in my head or on paper. Never finished one though. (Never will, I guess…) Making this little books was a good alternative. I wrote poems in it (seventeen-remember) or put photo’s in it (and never heard of scrapbooking then).

I learned to love photography because of my dad. He is a gifted photographer and I spend evenings with him in the kitchen, which we turned into a darkroom, to develop and print our photonegatives (that was back in the old days). I have boxes full of old photo’s stored and never did much with it. Untill I found a magazine about scrapbooking, a few years ago. It was as if I was struck by lightning – This is it!!! Ever since, I combine my passion for photo’s, texts and paper into scrapbooking and I feel blessed with all those boxes filled with old photo’s, and a digital camera to make new ones.

And now I’m taking a new step, a step forward I hope. A step towards sharing this passion with all you other scrapgirls out there. I hope you find as much fun and inspiration reading my blog as I did reading yours. Let me know and leave a comment!
