Lotus challenge #128

Yeah for Friday!
Don’t you just love Fridays?
Almost weekend, and in my case also “Lotus Paperie day”.
So the new challenge is up – a sketch provided by Tania –
and you are very welcome to play along this week!

(And did I tell you this already? The talented Bethany Kartchner is this Month’s Guest Designer! Scraplift one of her lay outs and of course there’s prizes that go along with that too!)

The design team
did a lovely job,
each one of them made a beautiful
lay out inspired
by Tania’s sketch.

Head over to the
Lotus Paperie blog
get inspired and
while you’re there,
leave the ladies
some love!

(but don’t forget to come back here, ’cause I have some wonderful photo’s coming up!)

As soon as I saw the sketch,
a photo like this came in mind…
Luck was on my side ’cause
the trip to my  parents was
already planned, the weather
was nice and they were very
willing to pose!

And such a lovely picture
needed a “special scrap”
so I decided on making a canvas!

I used alcohol ink (“Willow” from Ranger – Tim Holtz) and by diluting it more every time, I created the different tints.

Some stitches
and ric rac.
The colours fitted
perfect with the ink.

I puzzled over the title…
I thought about it for a
long time and just couldn’t
come up with one.
I decided to work
on my Leonard Cohen
Art Journal instead,
and leave the canvas
be for a while.
I took Leonard’s songlyrics
and my eye catches this –
“A thousand kisses deep”
– just perfect!

(Title made of chipboard alpha’s
with gesso and white paint.
I used a sponge to
get some texture)

Today is a lovely day in the Netherlands… finally!!!
Yesterday, I planted some flowers into flowerpots, and today my little backyard looks happy and sunny, so I made you all some pics!

And do you all know Gudrun?
She’s a wonderful talented
scraplady from Norway and
I admire her since the day
I found her on the Internet.
(And now she even became
my colleague in the Lotus
Design Team! How neat is that?!)
Anyway, June is her birthday-
month, and to celebrate that
she’s putting some giveaways
on her blog now and then
(check it out)
To give her some loving back,
I bought this yellow plant
to put in my garden and
named this “Gudrun’s flowerpot”.

I choose a yellow flower, ’cause I think yellow fits her (so bright and sunny!) and when I heard the name of this plant – “Girls eyes” – I knew this was the right one for my Gudrun flowerpot!

Aren’t they
the happiest
“Girls eyes?”
Hope your
birthday month
is as bright and
colourful as
these flowers,
Gudrun!
Happy birthday!

And here’s my
“C-photo”
CURTAINS.

I keep being amazed
by the wonderful
light effects
when the sun shines
through my
thin curtains!
(I have some wonderful
pics of the shadows
on the opposite wall too,
maybe I’ll post them
when it comes to the “S-photo”)

And one more
“C-photo”
CLOUDS.
If only just to
celebrate
the lovely
weather today!

(Maybe I should
have called this
“Dutch sky”!!!)

And now I will go outside, sit in my garden, sip a white wine and watch the flowers grow! I recommend you all to hop over to the Lotus Paperie blog,
get inspired and start creating…

Have a great weekend! Je t’embrasse!
