Rhypophobic?

Yeah,
right,
WHAT???

Teehee…. the new Lotus Paperie challenge #135 just went on line,
and this week it’s all about finger paint!

When I saw the challenge, I went looking for the most difficult and confusing
(Latin) synonym for the word I had in mind to use as a title.
Just to tease you!
I giggled when I found it.
I imagined your faces would look like this when you read the title. 😕

Am I right?

Rhypophobia = “fear for dirt”
uhhhm, I found out later: fear for a very DIRTY dirt
I should have used “Automysophobia”
but the lay out was already made
Oh, well
never mind.
(…still giggling…)

You see, the sneak peek I published earlier were my hands covered with paint!

Ooh, I had fun making this!
I covered the (orange) background paper with gesso first…

A THICK layer
of gesso.
In the top corner
it almost looks
like little waves…

…and after that I went wild.
I sprayed ink.
I let paint drip from the bottle.
I let paint drip from my hands.
I used my fingers to get the marble effect.

I used a lot,
I mean A LOT
of paint.
Almost
too much.
It started
to crackle
when it dried.
I used gel medium
to protect it
and to brighten
the colours.
I love the effect!

My son took the photo of my hands.
I flipped through the pages of old magazines to collect the title.
(That took a lot of time by the way, ’cause I started reading the articles…)
The subtitle is made “the Revlie way”

So… was it a colour boost or not?!!
I thought you could do with some happy colours to start the weekend!

So now it’s your turn again.
Hop on over to the Lotus Paperie blog to see what the other designers did,
and when you feel like playing
start dipping one finger in the paint,
and another one,
and another.

It’s easy.
It’s fun.

As long as you don’t suffer from any phobia!

And Oh, I almost forgot….

Ha. Well I actually have a fear of getting dirty. It makes it hard to do many things, but we try to make light of it at work (teacher). It is the source of many jokes. It is hard to work in a school and be afraid of dirt and getting dirty. My mother tells me about my fear even when I was 3 years old. Sad I know. Glad you can get dirty – I am a little jealous.

Did you know I have a fear of buttons? I truly do and have had it since as long as I can remember. But a fear of dirt – no way especially not pretty dirt like you just made! Fantastic images and wonderful design!
