“Mare”
Sorry I haven’t blogged in almost a week but I was busy, busy, busy….
(With what??? I’ll write a post about that soon – with photo’s.)
But I did get some scrapping done and as of today, I’m back in business!
And because
it’s Friday,
I start with
the new
Lotus Paperie
challenge.
Vanessa made
this sketch
for you all
to work with…
Here’s what I did with it: “Message in a bottle”
This is a bit of a special layout, ’cause it’s only half….
Yes, that’s right. I made a spread!
For the other half, I used the challenge that will be up on the Lotus Paperie blog
next week. I tried to made each page attractive “on its own” but they also had
to go well together… I think I managed but you’ll have to wait one week
to see the other half (and the complete layout)!
Detail
Inspired by
this technique
I added pieces
of shell to
give the layout
a “beach effect”
Thanks Petra
for the inspiration
and tutorial!
The inspiration for the Lotus layout came also from the ATC’s I made last
weekend. I had fun making this serie: “Mare” (for the ones that didn’t have
ancient languages lessons at high school: “Mare” is the Latin word for “Sea”
– and yes that’s right, you can see my name “Marit” shimmer… the meaning
of my name has to do with sea – but I’m planning a page about that too!)
The basic for these ATC’s is left over tissue paper which I use for dabbing
excessive spray ink from my pages – don’t ever throw away those left over
pieces of “garbage”… see what you can do with it!!!
The images are scanned from a children’s painting book
and coloured with pencils.
Mare – Shell
Mare – Sea horse
Mare – Mermaid
Mare – Fish
There’s still some more “sand and water” to come on next layouts –
I can’t seem to stop the waves from rolling through my mind right now.
I’m working on a Leonard Cohen Art Journal page and I have plans for my
“Miscellaneous” Art Journal… I hope I find time this weekend to work on
those! Anyway, see you soon with a post and a lot of photo’s of “whatever
I was busy with last week.” (Curious? That’s the intention – so you will
visit me again soon!)
And last but not least – some links where you can get free stuff!!!
This gal (Allison Cope) is giving away a free stamp set
of your choice!! I certainly will leave her a sweet comment
’cause I have my mind set on the alpha stamps, they are to drool over!
Go check it out and play along!
And my dear friend Bree
is almost at 100 followers,
and she’s feeling really generous…
She’s going to start giving away
goodies until October 2nd.
(that’s MY birthday, by the way…)
She’ll be doing random name draws
from her followers for FREE
SCRAPPY STUFF!
Bree’s a sweetheart, so become her follower, send her some love and get a change on winning something!
And now, let’s start the weekend!
I wish you all to have fantastic and creative days – See ya soon!
Je t’embrasse!
