Scrapping (to) the music…

…that’s what I did yesterday!
I’ll show you in a minute, but first some “domestic communications”

EDITED 11/16
The online survey is due. Thank you all so much for your participation!
I will analyse all the answers and update you soon…

  • Today is the last day for you to fill out my little online survey.
If you haven’t filled it out yet, PLEASE DO!
It will only take you a minute, and you will help me a lot by doing so!!!

If you don’t have a clue of what I’m talking about: click here

And did you leave me a comment on my give-a-way post?
Don’t miss the change to win some scrap goodies or even
an online workshop!

OK, now that this is said – on to some scrappin’ goodness!

Since I didn’t scrap all week, I looked for some inspiration to get
my mojo flowing again, and yesterday morning I found a link on
the SIS-forum to a site called ATC the music.
It’s a blog where you can send in an ATC card, inspired by a song.
It’s not a challenge blog but Linda, the founder, publishes one card a day.
I found it very inspiring to look at the cards and a perfect little thing
to start scrapping again, so I dived into my stash of old magazines
to look for photo’s that might bring a song to my head.
When I found the picture of a Dutch “lowland landscape” it was clear…

It had to be
one of my
favourite
songs by
Bob Dylan.
“Sad-eyed
Lady Of The
Lowlands”

Journaling
“How could
they ever, ever
persuade you.
Sad-eyed lady
of the lowlands.”

While searching through the old magazines, I came across a lot of
beautiful photo’s and I tore a few out to “use for something, sometime…”
One of those pictures was a compilation of all kind of arrows on a wall
and I liked it so much that I glued it in my art journal as “background”

Looking at it, the new song over at “Scrapping the Music” came to mind,
“Still haven’t found what I’m looking for” – by U2.
When I saw this was the new song for the challenge last week I thought
of playing along, but after I looked at the layouts the design team made
with this song I was so impressed (especially by the layout Michelle made!)
I hadn’t the nerve to start…

But that was almost a week ago, and now with these arrows on the page
I made a layout anyway!

I just stamped part of the lyrics on the background and coloured it with my
permanent markers. The sentence left a space at the end (right bottom) and
I had to fill it with something to “balance it”

So I “borrowed”
Lena’s technique
and draw some
arrows on a
transparency,
cut them out and
used glue dots
to fill the corner
with the arrows.

While working on these layouts with the radio tuned to my favourite
station (“Arrow Classic Rock” – what’s in a name?!) the idea came to mind
that I should start a “music art journal”. I use a lot of songs and lyrics
on my pages, and I still have the art journal Bree gave me. It’s screaming
to be filled! My “Leonard Cohen Art Journal” only has two pages to go and
then it’s finished but I like the idea of a “random music journal” – just playing
with whatever song that comes to mind or playes on the radio…

Yes, my mojo is flowing and the ideas are bubblin’
There may be some more layouts, ATC’s or art journal pages coming in the
next few days, so stay tuned! (And of course the winners of my give-a-way
will be announced this week. Notice, you’ll have until Wednesday 12.00
Eastern Time – that’s 18.00 PM for the Dutchies – to leave me a comment
and be in the draw!)

Have a nice Sunday and see you soon.

Je t’embrasse!
