Winners and results

Yes, yes, YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
We have a winner!!!!
(in fact, we have more winners…. keep on reading!)

I don’t like those
random number
computer
generators, so I
draw the names
for my blogiversary
give-away the old
fashioned way…
to be precise –
I didn’t draw them
at all! I let my son
do the drawing
while I took
photo’s, so you can
blame him if you’re not in (teehee!)

We used this “From-Canada-made-by-native-Americans-but-I-think-it-came-
straight-out-of-a-factory” pot.

I can assure you, once his hand/arm went into that pot, there was no way to
see the papers with the names… he whirled around a bit and this was the first
name…

MAJA

You won a parcel with scrapgoodies girl!!!

And more goodies go to….

 SETH

(I’m glad my son drew you here Seth, so I can give you something in return for
all the inspiration you gave me the past year!)

And last, but not least….

 MICHELLE

And now
on to…

(drumrolllllllll)

The winner of my first online workshop is……

 JEANET

Wooowweee, you’re welcome to join my first online workshop for free girl!!!

I will e-mail all of you winners to get your addresses to send the parcels to,
and Jeanet, I will keep you informed.)

And here are the results of my online survey.
First, I’ll show you the percentages of the given answers, and at the end,
I will tell you some more about my conclusions and plans…

The pictures (5 for each survey – the questions in Dutch and in English
were the same though) show the question and the percentages of the
given answers. (There are some “question numbers” missing, those
were open questions where one could write something personal…)

You can click on the photo’s to enlarge for a better view.

Some conclusions:

  • Most of you, even the Dutchies, prefer an online workshop
(but of course the foreign scrappers couldn’t come to
the Netherlands…. although some of you gave me the big
compliment that you would if you had the money…
thanks girls!!! You sure know how to make me smile!)
  • You all prefer making your own art journal (bookbinding)
but the answers to question #5 were pretty much equal
    (about 25 percent each)
  • So you want to work with gesso and gel medium huh?
That was obvious! I will certainly put that in my workshop,
there will be a bit of everything I listed ’cause there wasn’t
    a thing that you didn’t like…
  • Most of you want to stay informed/updated when it comes
to my plans. That gives me confidence that I’m on the right
track, and I’m very happy with that!

  • I learned an awful lot from the answers you gave on the “open
questions”. The things you listed, what you like or dislike, the
problems you faced during former workshops…
as far as it comes to online workshops and technical stuff, my
beloved and I evaluated all those things, and it helped him to
make my online community easy to handle and as comfortable
as possible. It will be easy to work with even for “computer
    dummies”.

  • On line workshops must continue on a regular base..
I mean, if there is only one lesson a week it’s hard to stay in the
flow, but if there’s too much action, students can’t always keep
up with it… So I’m thinking 6 weeks, with 2 new “challenges”
every week (with corresponding lessons, techniques, photo’s,
video tutorials etc.) and there’s room to chat and ask questions.
You will make at least 10 art journal pages (10 lessons) followed
by two lessons to bind it and create the cover…
does that make sense to you? Because that’s what I’m planning now!

Ideas swirl through my head, I have to make lists of the materials I’m
going to use – I don’t want “my students” (OH MY, it still feels a little
strange calling it that way…) to spend a lot of money buying new materials.
I want them (you?) to work with what they have, although if we’re going
to work with gesso and gel medium that has to be bought….

I will start making the examples and publish sneak peeks on my blog.
I plan my first online workshop will start at the end of January (or early
February) – and registration will start somewhere in December.

For the Dutchies, I like the idea of an online workshop with one
“classroom day” at the end. Working with gesso and (especially) gel medium
takes time to dry, you can’t do that “live” in one day. I’m thinking on making
pages with different techniques online and a finishing day in which we
bind the pages into a book and make the cover. That way there will also be time
left to chat and admire each others work. I will search for a classroom that is
fitting for this purpose/such a day, and keep you informed.

Pfew, this was a hell of a post, wasn’t it…
Are you still here?
I won’t keep you any longer!
I’m off now, see you again on Friday!

Je t’embrasse!
