Freewheelin’ Friday (#10)

Today is all about bits and pieces because that’s what I found when I came
out of bed this morning!

This is what my window-sill looked like!
Little bits and pieces of projects I started yesterday.

What you see here (the card on the right) is called “Zentangling
and I read about it on my friend Patty’s blog “Magpie’s Nest

I’m not yet satisfied with the result, so I don’t know it this “cowgirl card”
will appear in my gallery, but it is fun to “doodle” with my black marker and
I have plans adding a little bit of colour… we’ll see where this may lead.

And this here
is Sophia Loren.
I transferred a pic
onto a card (using
gel medium) but it
looks just like
the original photo
– nothing special –
and the one I
transferred onto
a red spayed card
(see big photo)
didn’t turn out
nice either.
So she lays in my
window-sill, and I
don’t know what to
do with her – yet.

More gel medium transfers lay waiting on the sideboard this morning.
I transferred two pictures on to cloth yesterday – just trying it out.
It’s my intention to use one or two of these in my “Artful Ramblings”
journal for “A Year in the Life of an Art Journal”.
The latest prompt is the word “Unknown” and the technique that comes
with the prompt is to sew on your page.

Here’s my journal, the pieces of cloth and a postcard – the start of
a new art journal page.

I like this transfer… it’s an ultrasound picture of my son and you
can see his head (right), his chest (left) and a little hand/fist.

I used to work on one page/layout at a time but since I started
working with gel medium, paint, gesso and all that stuff that needs
to dry I started working on several different projects at one time.

And now I got to choose… what will I start working on today?

Maybe this…???

And what are your plans this weekend?
Something creative?

Whatever of the above projects I will work on today, I hope to show you
at least one finished soon! (Which one would you like me to finish first?)

Have a nice weekend,
Je t’embrasse!

Hi Marit…you project pieces are all so interesting! I love the transfer of the sonogram pic…that is very cool and would love to see what you do with it…hmmmm. I am so hoping to be creative soon…I am just trying to get over a head cold and hope to be back scrapping soon.. it has been too long. I really want to do some journal books but we will see where the creative road takes me. I hope you have a great weekend!

Unlike Mirjam, I am a little behind and will be trying to catch up in between folding major amounts of clean laundry.

Maybe you could colorize Sophia with pastels or water color. Or give her an Andy Warhol effect.
