It’s fun to think you all wake up in another town, another country…
and in a few hours my son will wake up here:

One of my faves actually.
Especially the song he recorded with Johnny Cash:

*sigh*
Don’t stop reading here, I won’t get sentimental.
One last thing about my son in Nashville though – he e-mailed
that he “might come home with a pair of cool cowboy boots.”
If he will, I will take pictures! Promise!

First, my weekly art journal page.
Week 29.
Don’t you just love the image of that woman with her mail?
It’s from an advertisement I cut out of the “Saturday Evening Post” (from
1948!) Danielle send me last week, and it fitted right on the background
of my weekly page – which I’d already made using blues and browns!

Yesterday, I tried to make a card.
Seriously… I’m not very good at cards.
Nor sketches.
But when I saw this sketch that Angèle made for Dutch Card Lovers
I wanted to try and play along in the challenge. Make a card.
When I finally started working on it, another sketch was already up for this
week so I’m too late to enter this challenge, but I made the card anyway!

Challenge (“Midsummer night’s dream” and “Summer Holiday”)
It has been a while since I stamped and embossed – it does show doesn’t it?
Yep, I told you – I’m just not a card maker.
I keep on trying though… now and then.

And finally… the explanation of the “weird title” for this post.
Were you curious? Ha!
Some of you may “know” my friend Lena.
She was on SIStv, she participated in my workshops and she’s very creative.
She didn’t had a blog though and always said she doesn’t really need one…
but now that SIStv closed she had no place to publish her work anymore.
And of course I – being her heart friend since 1975 AND a blog addict –
stepped in and convinced her to start her own blog. I helped her set it up
(but take a look at the header on her blog, she did make that herself!)
and as of today she is online!
You all know how wonderful and exciting it is – as a newbie blogger – to get
comments so please hop over to Lena to read her first post and welcome her
in the virtual world. (I promise you won’t be disappointed ’cause she shows
amazing art journal pages in this first post. WOWZAH!)

Weer zo`n gave weekly page, steeds als ik hier ben denk ik moet ik echt eens aan gaan beginnen.
Maar het komt er steeds maar niet van.
Je kaartje naar aanleiding van mijn moeders sketch vind ik erg orinigineel geworden, jammer dat je hem niet meer kunt ‘insturen’.
Zo dan ga ik maar eens even bij Lena kijken, goed van je om haar net even een duwtje in de rug te hebben gegeven. Bloggen is zo leuk 🙂

Nou, ik vind die kaart hartstikke mooi hoor! En ik ben al helemaal dol op die strandhuisjes. Enne…hartstikke bedankt, dat je Lena naar een blog hebt geholpen, wat een talent zeg! Ik ben al hartstikke benieuwd naar andere werken van haar.

Zo leuk Marit om te zien wat je aan de hand van de schets gemaakt hebt! Ooit eerder heb je een kaartje gemaakt (met een schets van GS als ik me niet vergis) en die vond ik ook heel geslaagd.

Fabulous Marit!! Wonderful art, so glad you used some of the “junque” I sent you, Nout is a fabulous photographer and Lena’s blog is done!! You made your first card too!! You are crazy now girl!!
I am making a post on my blog right now, about the art journal page I made, and other stuff. I hope you come see it!! I also had to credit you and your workshop, so while I’m copying the blog address, I had to comment!!

Elke keer weer als je je weekly journal page post, denk ik weer hetzelfde … daar moet ik toch ook eens aan beginnen! Ik vind ze altijd zo mooi, en eigenlijk zou ik ook heel graag zo’n “dagboek” bezitten. Toch hoog tijd om me er dan eens aan te zetten dan, niet? Ook je kaartje is super.
En nu zal ik eens bij je vriendin binnenspringen…

Being a child of the 60’s, I now have Bob Dylan songs in my head! I love the card from a sketch idea, and I like yours in particular. The journal page is super.

wat een prachtig werk is er hier weer van jou te zien (had heel wat in te halen) en ook deze art journal…super! en ja dat plaatje…geweldig! met je kaart is helemaal niks mis…erg mooi geworden en wat leuk dat je ook een keer met sketch hebt gewerkt!

Prachtige kaart Marit! Je art journal page is helemaal super! Ik ga dat echt ook doen!! Als ik jouw pages zie, wil ik altijd meteen aan de slag! Zo inspirerend altijd!

Zoals je weet maak ik heel soms een kaartje maar als het af is ben ik er meestal ook niet zo tevreden over. Het is het dan net niet. Maar die van jouw ziet er prachtig uit zo met die strandhuisjes.Ook je weekoverzicht is weer super. Ben benieuwd naar de cowboylaarzen die Nout mee brengt. “Ooit” had ik er ook een paar, zwarte met gele en rode stiksels erop. Net vlammen. Sentiment!!!
Ik ga gauw bij Lena kijken en haar aan mijn lijst toevoegen. Trouwens, wat lief van je om Lena te helpen met het maken van haar blog. Je bent een echte vriendin !!!!
