Too much to handle!
I decided to make an “in between post” today.
I normally post on Mondays or Tuesdays and Fridays, but this week
I have been out of control creating so I decided to publish some of the work
in between otherwise it would be too much to handle for you on Friday!
There are things I made last week – and even the week before – that have to
stay “secret” some more – I will show you those later – but here are the things
that I did just for me and there’s no secret about it…!

For A Year in the Life of an Art Journal
The word on July 15th was “Stop” and since nothing could stop me this
week I made a page “in general.” Nothing personal to journal about, not
now anyway, but we all have days that we scream out loud:
“Aaargghhhh, STOP IT!”
I tried to catch this feeling on the page.
The blue in the background is a very old fashioned ink that came in a tiny
little bottle with a little cork. I honestly don’t know where I got it (from my
mom I guess?! She always surprises me with these kind of little treasures)
I used the last drops to colour the page (I even had to add some water)
and I don’t think I will ever find that same ink and colour again…
The title is stamped with foam alpha stamps and paint (now THAT was some
time ago since I used those!) and I outlined it with a black marker.
The photos are sewed on to the page with my sewing machine… and yes,
the back of the page has stitches now! I’m very curious to learn what the next
prompt will be! I’ll either use the stitches or glue paper over it to hide it.

On to “skinny cards”
(??)
Wait, I’ll explain!
I bumped on to these cards on the Internet several times and I always
wondered what a “skinny card” was exactly. Today I looked it up.
It’s like an ATC – most of them are made for a swapp – but the seize is
different. I thought it would be real long and small (it sound so – uhhmmm
– skinny) and I was a little bit disappointed on that.
The size is 3 x 5 inches (7,62 x 12,7 cm)
I’d like to try new things though, so I went for it!

to use for a border
but instead it looked
great on her head.

Dankjewel voor al het moois wat je ons weer laat zien!! Het is inderdaad teveel om te bewaren, wat ben je ontzettend creatief bezig zeg!!
Ik vind alles prachtig maar die Aaaargh-pagina is wel mijn favoriet, de ergenis spat er vanaf!!!

Geweldig, die “Aaaargh” page!! Lijkt me zo leuk om te werken met inkt uit zo’n heel oud mysterieus flesje… Het resultaat is verbluffend! Enne… The Strange Couple… hilarisch!!!! Zooo grappig!!
De skinnies zijn prachtig, vooral je tweede!!

Lieve Marit, wat een lief berichtje heb je voor me achtergelaten op mijn blog, ik kan je niet zeggen hoeveel dat voor me betekent! En natuurlijk kan je ook op me rekenen mocht jij je ooit een beetje down voelen, wat dacht je! Het is inderdaad wat hé, die eeuwige onzekerheid. Ik dacht dat ik dat kwijt zou spelen met ouder te worden, maar tot nu toe laat het me nog altijd niet koud wat andere mensen van me denken. Ach ja, zo ben ik nu eenmaal. Het is beter denk ik ermee te leren leven dan het te willen veranderen …
Nu jij hoeft zeker nooit onzeker te zijn hoor, je werkjes zijn weer geweldig en ontzettend inspirerend. Elke keer dat ik jouw werk zie, denk ik “dat wil ik ook doen”, vooral dan wat je art journal pages betreft. Deze “stop” is weeral adembenemend.
Ik kijk er hoe langer hoe meer naar uit om jou ook eens te ontmoeten. Met Jenneke en Jeanet is dat ook zo geweldig goed meegevallen. Dus, laat het me weten mocht je in de buurt zijn of als je eens naar Heesch trekt hé. Trouwens, weet je nog, toen je net met je workshops begon dacht je er ook over om bij je thuis workshops te organiseren … is daar al iets concreets uit voortgekomen? Ik ben zeer zeker geïnteresseerd!

Nou, van mijn part mag je altijd wel even tussendoor posten hoor! Je hoeft niet steeds tot maandag en vrijdag te wachten! Geef mij maar elke dag een portie Marit-Inspiratie! Die STOP page is helemaal het einde en hij doet me door de letters aan een comic denken. Hartstikke goed!

I find that pair of cards hilarious too, Marit, and I especially like the 70’s style card, but the best thing today is the Pingu video you sent me! It was AWESOME. Loved the seal eating all his fish!

Leuk zo’n tussendoor post vooral als er zoveel moois te zien is !!!The strange couple ha,ha hoe verzin je het ??? Je aargh LO is hartstikke mooi geworden. jammer van je blauwe inkt maar ja, eens gaat ie op. De skinny cards heb ik al eens ergens gezien, die van jouw zijn prima gelukt. niet te zien hoor dat je ze voor het eerst maakt. Vooral de tweede, de jaren 70 spat er van af. Ik ga nu je vorige post bekijken en ik kijk al uit naar de volgende !!!

Love your inbetween post!! moet je vaker doen!! en wat een moois weer, en ja natuurlijk heb ik ook zo van die dagen dat ik het wel uit wil schreeuwen, hahaha!!! en de skinnycards zijn super, inderdaad wel een beetje teleurstellend formaat (ik dacht lange en smal) maar evengoed zijn ze prachtig!!!
