Another in between post

THANKS, dear readers, for all the wonderful comments on my last post.
I was a little bit insecure about that post at first – it’s scary to put
emotional “highlights” of your life online and although my talking about
music doesn’t seem too personal, it sure was to me!
But you all felt that right away – I think I’m right when I state that we all
have a “personal soundtrack of our life” and you all felt the importance
of it when I shared mine…

So thanks friends for the kind words and nice compliments on my writing!
(“You should do something with your writing” some of you commented…
I’m working on it ladies, I’m working on it!)

For now, I have two things to share.
Don’t want to let these stay on hold any longer…

..

..

so here it is… my weekly page from my week-art-journal from last week

Week 30

Can you tell it was a happy, shiny week?
I bet you can!

I used acrylic paint in bright colours, my copic markers for the doodling,
the “mermaid” (which is quite a frightning lady when you look at her more
closely) is actually a “tattoo-sticker” that is meant to stick on your skin.
It works on paper, but she lost a breast along the way…
The photo of me was taken for another challenge a few years back (me as
“superwoman”) and it was fun to use it again!

..

Danielle told me that she got her card and envelope that I made for her,
so today I can show it to you!

It’s almost a miracle that it got to America at last!
I think American mail men are somehow smarter then here in the Netherlands!
I mailed this envelope off and it came right back to me the other day –
our Dutch mailmen somehow hadn’t figured out that I was the SENDER
not the receiver!
BUT… luckily… they hadn’t put any stamps on the envelope – so the stamps
weren’t ruined! I made my own address at the back less visible, wrote
an extra “sender” with my address, mailed it again, said a little prayer and
hoped for the best… and YEEHAAAA.. Danielle got it this week!

I used all kinds of paper scraps, images from magazines, spray ink and
markers to make this. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun and Danielle –
you sure deserve this girl! Love ya!

..

And that’s all for today.
I’m working on my skinny skinny right now.
I already received skinnies from “participants” and if you want to join
in on the fun, you still can e-mail me your “skinny skinny” or send a link
where I can find it. (Read more about my little challenge at the end of
this post) I will publish all the skinnies on Friday afternoon (Dutch time)
so you still have time to play along!

Let’s put the deadline on Friday 9 am Standard Central Time (CST)
that’s 4 pm for us Dutchies

After that, I’ll publish it on my blog so see you on Friday!

Je t’embrasse.

Okay, that’s it … no more… Every week you post your weekly art journal, I have said I want to start my own as well … well, no more talk, this time I’m really going to do it!!!! I’m gonna buy myself a large journal and just get on with it!!! Because really, I fall in love with your pages week after week! Just a quick question to get me going … do you write something down every day right away, or do you just think back? Is there something I should know before starting a project like this? All help/advice is welcome and highly appreciated!!!

And I love love love the card and envelope you made… wowsers!

Well, I write you as soon as things slow down around here. I don’t think I will be able to fit a skinny in before Friday. Wish I could.

Dear Marit ~ I was just telling the men in my life about your wonderful music journal page and post … we are all guided and connected by music, so they really appreciated hearing about it. You express yourself so beautifully in words and art … I’m sure I’ve told you that already!
