A skinny but full post!
(Freewheelin’ Friday #33)
Friday already – time flies and the days are already shortening again…
This morning there even was a hint of Autumn in the air – oh how I love
those Months when the leaves turn yellow and spiders weave their webs.
Months in which everything turns back to normal. People go to work.
Children go to school. Days when in the morning you have to put on a jacket
but in the afternoon you can do without – nice temperatures and a low sun.
September, October… (*teehee* my birthday month!)
Why was I thinking of that?
Well – in September the online workshop “Let it Loose” will start!
With the vacation ending and children going back to school, momma’s will
have time to “let it loose” – so I thought.
I went through the lessons again this week and got enthusiastic all over,
so today I will show you sneaks of what to expect in that workshop.
But first, as promised, “skinny skinnies!”
..
..
You either didn’t feel like making a skinny or were too busy doing other
things… Only two ladies played along with my little challenge (and then
there’s me of course) Here are the skinnies. (Click on the image to enlarge)
The first one is made by Lena. I love that she used a picture of the famous
photo model Twiggy (known for her skinniness!) and that quote goes
with it so well!
Phinner combined the Scrapping the Music challenge of last week
with making a skinny, and MAN is it a shiny happy skinny or not?!
I love all those joyful smileys! Too bad you didn’t win the prize dear π
The card with the skeleton is mine.
I found it rather difficult to work with these measures (4 x 12 inch)
but in the end, after adding the little (cut out) images of roses, I liked
the result. But I’ve had it with skinnies for now! I don’t think I will do it
again anytime soon.
..
Sneaks!
Some of my blog readers were in the first “Let it Loose” class in February
(the second workshop was postponed) and an overview of the work that was
made by the participants back then can still be found in the Public Gallery
on the website.
But for you who are curious about this workshop… here are some clues!
What will you be working with/on?
Learn to improve your journaling and handwriting!
..
Silhouettes, masking. Little effort – great effect!
..
Fun techniques to add texture to your pages.
..
Think outside the box – learn more about colours!
..
What is gesso and what can you do with it?
..
How to make collages.
..
Doodling is fun!
..
Are you ready to Let it Loose after the vacation?
Do you need a boost to get started again – and are you in for some fun?
Come on over then! I hope to welcome you in my own, private online
classroom on September 6th!
Registration is open!
You can find all the info right here!
..
I’m looking forward to the weekend. A friend will come visit us,
and I planned some creating time too.
On top of that I planned to look gorgeous the next days ’cause today I
cleaned out my clothes cabinet… (there’s a lot of clothes coming your way
mom! Prepare!) and I found long forgotten clothes behind the huge piles.
Pieces I totally forgot I owned and that suddenly seem hip again.
I’m so glad I did this today – it isΒ so rewarding!Β My closet looks neat AND
I have “new clothes” to wear without any money spend. YEAY!
I wish you all a wonderful weekend too, enjoy!
Remember: when you feel good, you look good!

Well… I had hoped to see some more skinnies… but I guess it is summertime and I know people have other things on their mind…
But the ones I see, besides my own, are great!!
And ladies… that workshop “Let it Loose” is soooo worth doing!! I’ve joined the first one and had a blast!!

hee, hee, hee!
I love your skinny! you made me laugh with “I’ve had it with skinnies!” LOLOLOL! oh, and how weird, I thot about Twiggy related to the skinnies also!
yeah, I was bummed that I didn’t win “the prize,” but I was happy for Rhayne : .)

Liefs xxx Peggy

The skinnies are each fabulous Marit … 4×12 IS very nice and skinny … I was playing along in spirit … with our son home for a short week … not quite as much time for creating … you know how it goes I’m sure
in fact you talking about spider webs … yesterday Colin invited me for a walk in the woods (thought he’d never ask heehee) we saw SO many beautiful spider webs and tried photographing a few too … we are so often on the same wave length all the way across the ocean … aren’t we!
Your workshop sounds and looks fab … great fun seeing the pics of your last workshop!
Isn’t it amazing that so much of what we think we need … we already have … like the great clothes you found in your closet … Love that!
Happy Happy Weekend Dear One!

wat een toeval, of bestaat dat niet? Loslaten, Let loose, Let it loose.

I love when I find treasure in my closet. Glad you were able to.

Lieve groetjes – Irma

Hi Marit! I love, love your skinny! The colors & the placement of the skeleton are wonderful. I think you made excellent use of such an odd sized paper. I’ve done skinny pages before, but not this skinny.
Happy days,
Joanie
