At the beach

I hope Lotus posted their challenge on time… otherwise I’m too early.
I can’t check because I prepared this post earlier and it will be posted
“automatically”… Yep, I’m not here right now!
I’m visiting my parents today, and maybe that’s why I scrapped these
beach photo’s, ’cause changes are that I’m right on that beach when you
read this!!! Wooohweee!

But first, let me show you the sketch for this week’s challenge.

I loved working
on this one!

I’m more the
“one pic type”
so it is good
for me to be
forced to scrap
more photo’s
on one layout
sometimes.
Just to step
outside the box
(my box)

Born to be wild…

I bet you all have been thinking “where’s that lay out she would made
for her post #100 – the one Angèle challenged her to do…?”
Remember that?

“I choose picture one. I think the photo was taken in early spring.
I see little yellow flowers. Or are they winter violets?
I choose this yellow to be the main colour for your scrap!”

Angèle is the only one who knew this: I had it finished more then a week ago!
I had fun working on it and – although it wasn’t my intention to
combine things – I used a technique that Lotus Paperie would come up with
for today’s challenge #137 – use watercolour paint/pencils.

So I e-mailed Angèle to tell her I finished the lay out, but that she could not
see it yet ’cause I would publish it not earlier then today… but that it would
be published on two blogs then – mine and Lotus Paperie!
And today is that day! So here it comes…

Book of Me

On August 1, Cocoa Daisy started with an initiative to create a “Book of Me”.
Every day in August there will be a post (“Daily Prompt”) on the
message board which can be used as a page in a Book of Me Album.
At the end of the 31 days, you’ll have 31 pages about yourself to compile.

Since I have an account there, I’d thought I would join in –
I decided to do a 6×6 album, and cut all the cardboard in advance.

There has been two prompts so far (August 1 and 2) and I like them both!!!
(if there’s a prompt you don’t like, you just skip that one)
If you wanna join in – it’s not to late! Hop on over and play along!

I have already finished two pages…
wanna see?

Why – and a lot more!

One Little Word came with the word “Why”
I haven’t played OLW in ages, but I liked this word
and decided to give it a go this time.

I don’t know how you call this in other countries, but here in Holland
every child around 2-and-a-half to 3 years old goes through
the “Waarom-fase” (“Why-phase”)
If you have kids, you probably know how irritating it can be
when your child keeps on asking “why….” all day long.
Every mum has the intention to “always take my kids serious
and answer their questions” –
that is untill the kids reach that certain age… 2-and-a-half!
Then it starts.
And in the end, every mum finds herself saying:
“DAAROM” (BECAUSE!)

YIEEHAAA, POST #100!

OK you blog visitors, readers, fans, critics… I’ve reached post #100
and I take this opportunity to let you know how fond I am of you all!
After all, without you I don’t know if I would have made it this far…

Some of you traveled with me through blog land right from the beginning,
some of you I met along the way and maybe some of you are here for the first time… welcome to you all!

Today it’s party time and everyone can profit from my give-a-way!
Yep, you read that right, I’m gonna reward one of you with a nice bag
stuffed with vintage goodies.

Let me show you the stuff first before I ramble about what you have to do
to lay your hands on this…
(ahaaa – there’s the snake in the grass – you’ll have to DO something 😉 )

Like what you see?
I promise you, you don’t have to do much to make a change to get this…
It’s super, simple easy!
I, on the other hand, will have to go to work.
Made you curious huh?
Let me tell you what I made up for you – and myself!

Come into my garden
Lotus challenge #131

This is gonna be a short post!
Just some photo’s… and a few words.
In Holland, we’re not used to hot temperatures –
most of the time our country is cold and windy.
And in Summertime pleasant, easy-going weather,
like 24º Celsius (75 Fahrenheit)
It is 30ºC right now! (86 degrees Fahrenheit)
That is – outside it is,
at my computer it must be more….
I’m melting!
The computer is melting!
I won’t visit blogs or talk on the boards ’till this heat is over…
The forecast says it should be over this weekend.
Or at least on Monday.
Keep your fingers crossed, or I will end up as a puddle.

Anyway, I have
a tiny little bit
of energy left
to show you
my take on the
Lotus Paperie
challenge #131

which is:
“hand cut the
pattern out of
pattern paper”

You won’t see that (much) on this photo though… this photo is a detail
of my self made flower. (Remember the sneak peek?)
