Rhypophobic?

Yeah,
right,
WHAT???

Teehee…. the new Lotus Paperie challenge #135 just went on line,
and this week it’s all about finger paint!

When I saw the challenge, I went looking for the most difficult and confusing
(Latin) synonym for the word I had in mind to use as a title.
Just to tease you!
I giggled when I found it.
I imagined your faces would look like this when you read the title. 😕

Am I right?

Rhypophobia = “fear for dirt”
uhhhm, I found out later: fear for a very DIRTY dirt
I should have used “Automysophobia”
but the lay out was already made
Oh, well
never mind.
(…still giggling…)

Catching up…

This is going to be a chaotic post… with a lot of randomness.
Things are a bit hectic at the moment and the more I create,
the more my “to do” list seems to grow instead of shrink.
I discovered some new blogs/artists lately (thanks to
the buried treasure project) and the inspiration has taken flight!
I just can’t choose where to start or what to begin with.
Lots of images/ideas/possibilities whirl through my head and I guess
it all has to descend and find it’s place before I can filter “my own thing”
out of it.

Do I sound a bit cryptic? Sorry, my English writing is not bad but
when it comes to explaining mixed feelings inside it’s hard to find
the right words in another language…

So let’s stop talking and let’s start showing!

Focus (post #99!!!!)

Challenge #133 at Lotus Paperie this week:

Use a blurry/crappy photo

I remembered the
photo’s my son took
when he just got
his new camera.
He played with the
manual (shutter/
lens opening) to get
control over it, and
besides some
perfect focused
photo’s he made
some “out-of-focus-pics” like this one.

It’s a nice series of photo’s though, so I decided to do something with it.
I thougt of using one focused, and a few out of focus pics
and the title should be “Focus”.

This is how it works with me: I start with something – in this case the pictures and a title – and then I let it simmer for a while. See what comes in my head. And sometimes I bump onto something unexpected. Coincidental accidents.

This CD was
laying on the table
(Janis Joplin with
Big brother &
the Holding
company)
My guy’s listened
to it the other
evening and it
wasn’t put back
on it’s place yet.

And there it was –
the idea of using
this as a sketch
and put the sharp
photo in the
middle… focus!

Hi there…

The moment
I saw the sketch
that Lotus Paperie
came up with
for this week’s
challenge #132,
I knew I was
gonna use it
to make a
mini book.
It’s been too long
(since April)
that I made one!

Come into my garden
Lotus challenge #131

This is gonna be a short post!
Just some photo’s… and a few words.
In Holland, we’re not used to hot temperatures –
most of the time our country is cold and windy.
And in Summertime pleasant, easy-going weather,
like 24º Celsius (75 Fahrenheit)
It is 30ºC right now! (86 degrees Fahrenheit)
That is – outside it is,
at my computer it must be more….
I’m melting!
The computer is melting!
I won’t visit blogs or talk on the boards ’till this heat is over…
The forecast says it should be over this weekend.
Or at least on Monday.
Keep your fingers crossed, or I will end up as a puddle.

Anyway, I have
a tiny little bit
of energy left
to show you
my take on the
Lotus Paperie
challenge #131

which is:
“hand cut the
pattern out of
pattern paper”

You won’t see that (much) on this photo though… this photo is a detail
of my self made flower. (Remember the sneak peek?)

Rock ‘n’ Roll is an attitude,
not an age… (Challenge #130)

Wow, aren’t these the most handsome guys or not?

(And can you believe my son has no girlfriend yet?
He’ll be 17 next Sunday and if I were a young girl,
I would dribble over such a lad!
But hey, the other one is mine and I hope to grow old with him
so that we can dribble together in the home for the elderly!)

As soon as I
laid my eyes
upon this sketch;
challenge #130
over at Lotus
Paperie this week

I knew I wanted
to make the scrap
I had in mind
for a few weeks,
using a quote
from Dave Mason.

So I asked my men
to pose for me,
what they
willingly did!
Love you guys!!!

Lotusday, memorabilia
& a blog award!

LOTUSDAY!

OK, it’s Friday and you know the drill…
There’s a new challenge up on the Lotus Paperie blog!

This time, you’re
asked to use
“Negative Space”
on your lay out.
“Negative space”
can be interpreted
in different ways…
but I won’t start
explaining it ’cause
I probably will
sound like a
schoolteacher
again: just google
around, look at all
the examples and
let inspiration flow!

This is my take on the challenge.
Handwritten journaling says: “Face it. Don’t walk away from life”
