It’s a grey day over in the Netherlands and the rain comes pouring down…
but it doesn’t bother me much. I feel fine!
After four weeks of “Letting it Loose in my Workshop” the ladies in the
group are still very enthusiastic and it warms my heart and makes me happy!
Because of the shout outs on all their blogs, I got several others asking for this
workshop and so I’m glad to inform you that
the online workshop “Let it Loose” will start again on May 3 and a
new online workshop “A Creative Art Journey” will start on May 7.
Registration is now open and you can find all info in the shop on my website.
I finally finished the art journal page for “A Year in the Life of an Art Journal”
last week. Remember the gel medium transfer of the ultrasound photo of
my son which I transferred onto cloth? I used it!
The word for prompt #3 was “Unknown”
“The Unknown…. we live it everyday… you think your day is pretty well
planned out, “normal” and then BANG, something comes up…
a phone call, an appt changed… there’s a multitude of unknowns that
occur in our lives everyday. Are you afraid of the unknown? Do you like
what the unknown might have in store for you? How do you handle
the unknown? Everyone looks at it a little differently…”
The “technique to try” was stitching on your page, and you all know I love
to do that!!! So here’s my page.
Journaling:
Hi there, little unknown.
So there you are!
March 1992, and I see you for the first time.
A little head, two arms, feet…
I knew you were there but it gets more real now that you waved at me.
I still don’t know you though.
You’re a part of me but as soon as you are born you will be an individual.
Will I ever know you?
Aren’t we all “unknown” somehow?
I painted the pregnant figure with water colour paint, and used my sewing
machine to stitch the transfer on her belly. The “double breast” arose
by accident… I masked the figure before I sprayed the title with spray ink,
but my mask must have moved. I liked the effect though!
Because I made a
special art journal
to fill with the
prompts – and I
use front and back
of all the pages –
I might come across
a problem when the
next prompt is up…
I thought about it
on forehand but I
decided to sew on
my page anyway.
I consider this side
of the page as an
extra challenge
coming with the next prompt.
(And I can always glue another paper on it, if I can’t integrate these threads)
And surprise, surprise, I went on with the zentangling thing!!!
Here’s page 2 and 3.
(Notice that page 3 is a lot smaller….)
Page 4 and 5
(Page 4 is the back of page 3… small again)
And here’s the surprise!!!
Page 2 and 3 again, but behind page 3 you see a part of page 5.
And page 4 and 5 again, but with a part of page 2 visible on the left side.
This is fun, FUN to do… it’s like a puzzle and every new page brings surprises!
I think I get the hang of it too! If I keep zentangling like this, my little album
will be full in no time!
But I’m thinking about some “traditional scrapping” in the days to come –
it’s been ages since I made a 12 x 12 layout!
But whatever I will decide to work on, I hope to be creative this weekend!
I wish you a nice weekend too!
Je t’embrasse!
