From now on, Friday is “Lotus day”!!!
My term as a Design Team member starts today with challenge #127
– which is now up on the Lotus Paperie blog – and it’s a fun one:
The challenge this week is to use FELT!

The paper is from the “Paris Nights Collection” (designed by Nina Higgins for GCD studios.) I fell in love with this collection as soon as I laid my eyes on it! The sheet I used is called “Versailles” and it has a Linen Texture Finish…
I used a “French shabby chic” photo of myself to go with the paper.
I edited the photo in Photoshop.
The title/journaling is also French and means “Come dance with me cheek to cheek” (that’s a bit of a “free translation” but sounds a lot better than what it really says: “Come dance, eyes against breasts” – how on earth does that look like?)

It took quite some
time to make this
out of felt (using
the real hat as an
example) but it was
such fun to do! It
has two layers, and
the “light effect (on
top and at its seam)
where made using
white stazon ink.
The finishing touch,
ribbon with a bow,
just like the real hat!

Friday… not only “Lotus day” but also the start of the weekend, YEAH!
My parents come visit me this afternoon – they stop by on their way home from their vacation in France – and I’m looking forward to an evening filled with nice food (I know, ’cause I already did the grocerie-shopping) and drinks and laughter! That’s some way to start the weekend!!!
A weekend in which I planned a lot of scrapping also – and I mean making lay outs I will actually be able to publish and show you! Wishing you all a nice weekend too, and be sure to visit me again after that to see what I created…
