The moment
I saw the sketch
that Lotus Paperie
came up with
for this week’s
challenge #132,
I knew I was
gonna use it
to make a
mini book.
It’s been too long
(since April)
that I made one!
Maybe “mini” book
isn’t the right word…
It’s BIG! 6 x 12 inch!
It turned out rather
simple but funky.
I messed around with
my spray ink on
glossy photo paper and
the effect was amazing!
Deep colours and
a glimmering shine.
For the journaling,
I got inspired by
Bethany who made a
lay out about her son
getting older.
This book only has 3 thick cardboard pages! (I glued the photo paper on with book binding glue) I stamped the text with Stazon ink:
“Hi there handsome
when did my baby boy
grew up to be
this tall handsome young man
Did I blink?”
A bit sentimental?
Maybe so, but my son turned 17 last Sunday –
therefor I’m allowed to feel melancholic, don’t you think?!
The back
of the book.
Simple.
Colourful.
Just my name
on the edge.

This is a detail
of the stamping.
The shimmering
effect of the ink
on the glossy paper
is hard to catch
on photo though…
Lately, my son gets a little embarrassed seeing his face appear all over the Internet and me calling him handsome all the time… so I won’t scrap him for a while. (Uhhhmmmm, maybe a baby photo?)
OK, this was my take on the sketch.
There are so many possibilities to make a lay out with this!
Hop on over to the Lotus Paperie blog and play along!
I’d love to see what YOU do with this sketch
Wishing you all a happy, sunny, creative weekend!
(Oh, and for those who are counting – this is post 97…)
