First: let me ask you this:
are you a perfectionist?
Do you always over think your lay out at least a dozen times
before you start working on it?
Do you always “colour between the lines”?
You wouldn’t dare to “just do something” – ’cause you’re afraid
it might turn out wrong?
You said YES to all the above…?
Then let’s shake hands – you’re just like me!
But I found the perfect remedy.
A cheap therapy to loosen up – to shake perfectionism from your shoulders,
to just play and have fun…
(Thanks to Liesbeth, who mentioned this book on her blog,
published some hilarious photo’s and sure had a lot of fun with it too!)
I bought me and my friend Lena this book!

It was designed and written for perfectionists like us and it contains instructions that are hard to follow if you’re like that, but Lena & I managed to put ourselves over it and, once we got a hang of it, we had the time of our life.
We almost peed our pants last Wednesday!!!
Keep reading and share the fun!
One of the first instructions the book gave us was: “Crack the spine”….
OUCH!!!
That was difficult… but we did it.
And then we burned a page.
And we spilled tea/coffee over it.
After that, we came acros the following instruction:
“Tie a string to the journal. Go for a walk, drag it.”

So, overconfident as we were by that time, we went for a walk (Nout took the photo’s – in between laughing!)
After playing for a while, we had no problem doing this either:
“Tie a string to the spine of this book. Swing wildly.
Let it hit the walls.”
Giggle, giggle…..
Lena bought us
large lollipops
to obey to
this instruction:
“Tongue painting.
1. Eat some colorful candy…
2. Lick this page.”
If you’re a perfectionist yourself…. buy this book!
Invite a friend and go for it. I assure you enormous fun!
Did you read the former post about Queens day in the Netherlands? Well, it’s custom that on that day everyone sells stuff on the street. Each city changes in a big flee market and for me – scrap booker – it’s the opportunity to go strolling the markets and find me some yummy stuff!
I looked for vintage (childrens) books this time, and I found some real nice ones! Also a stamp (some sort of frame)
Tuesday, I got
this in the mail.
It’s the gift Helen made/bought for me!!! I’m totally in love with the lace,
I adore the little “bag” she made
and the Easter decorations are over-the-top sweet…
I’m not a “sweet coloured girl” but when Helen dares me to use it on a scrap
I don’t let that go by on me easily… so Helen, I’ll use it! Promise!

It must have taken her a lot of time
to make this… look at all the embroidery! Thanks Helen!
Today, I spend the afternoon creating. I hadn’t done much last week, and really needed some “me-time”. Although lots of challenges were going on over at SIStv (celebrating “National Scrapbook Day”) I decided to work on my Leonard Cohen Art Journal book…
and so I celebrated on my own!
(This post contains already enough pictures, I’ll show you the Art Journal page another time)
But the day isn’t over yet. It’s still early in the evening over here and because SIStv goes on American time there’s hours and hours left to play along! I might spend the rest of the evening over there, hanging out with the SISters, chatting, playing games and have some fun…
