I’m a bit philosophical the last couple of days and it all started
with a little ATC card…
Those ATC’s are just perfect to create when you don’t have much time
and want to make something small – which was the case last Sunday.

A few years ago,
my son was fan
of a band named
“Live”. (Some name!
Ever tried to find
this band on google?
Imagine what you
get when you want
to look for a concert
movie and you type
“Live live”…)
Anyway, although
Nout moved on to
liking “Muse” more,
I remember the
Live song
“The beauty of grey.”
I still love that one!

Being in a
“beauty mode”
I choose to use
this stamped
image that
I got from
Glenda for
another ATC.
I don’t use
beads very
often but it
fitted here.
“Girly beauty”
And you may remember that I wanted to play along with Scrapping the Music
last week but made those ATC bags instead… So on Sunday I went over
to Scrapping the Music to see what the next challenge/song was and as
I read the lyrics I knew I just HAD to make time to play along with this one…
“What could be a better song for scrapping than Will Smith’s
“Just The Two Of Us?” It’s such an awesome tribute to parenthood,
and the video is so sweet! But even if you aren’t a parent there’s plenty
of ways to scrap it!”
Here’s the art journal page I made.
Journaling (part of the lyrics):
Some day, some girl’s gonna break your heart and Ooh, ain’t no pain like
from the opposite sex. Gonna hurt bad, but don’t take it out on the next, son.
I glued pages from an old encyclopedia on the background and sprayed it
with ink. The photos are tranfered onto it using gel medium (a portrait of
my son and a stock photo of some “gossip girls”). Black and white sharpies
for the journaling.
Detail of the photo transfers:
Oh, the beauty of teenagers!
The “almost man/woman but not knowing
where to go with their bodies” look.
Looking tough – feeling insecure…
Covert glances to the other sex…
I LOVE being the mother of a young man!!!
And to all you mothers of teenage boys and girls:
don’t pick on them too hard.
If they act nasty, remember – It’s the hormones.
They are on their way to adulthood.
They are searching for their identity.
And they just DON’T want to be YOU.
It will pass.
Enjoy the good times.
Have a nice week!
Je t’embrasse!

but you won’t be able to read it…) if you like some blogcandy,
