Now you must know I’m not\u00a0much into Christmas.\u00a0I don’t have a christmas tree. I hardly decorate the house with christmas stuff (only a little bit, I’ll take\u00a0some pictures\u00a0to post\u00a0later) I\u00a0DO light lots of candles\u00a0though – but I have candles burning all throughout the year so that doesn’t count much.)<\/p>\n
Maybe it’s because of my “non-decorating” that I liked this challenge so much!
\nInstead of turning my house into a christmas commercial I\u00a0took the change to (christmas)decorate\u00a0on paper! And boy,\u00a0did I had fun!!!
\nI enjoyed using stereotype christmascolours and images. (I’m even thinking of making a little “christmas\/holidaybook”\u00a0after this\u00a0’cause\u00a0I’m not rid of this “christmas spirit” that got into me yet.) I always thought that\u00a0I was\u00a0more\u00a0the “graphic” kind of scrapper\u00a0so I even amazed myself\u00a0by\u00a0using sparkling stuff and red velvet paper! Never thought\u00a0I would manage making such a lovely layout with this kind of material!<\/p>\n

\nI had to use this\u00a0one ’cause it’s the\u00a0only “christmasy”\u00a0photo I could find in the whole house!
\nBut it’s a very
\nsweet one, don’t you think?
\nThe quote I found\u00a0on the Internet (I forgot where it came from or who said it) and it touched me somehow because in spite of all the commercial things happening around me these days, I still feel\u00a0that “glow” too. My\u00a0personal goal was\u00a0to make a layout that would show how I think christmas should be – the overall feeling I mean\u00a0– and\u00a0I think I\u00a0managed in doing\u00a0just that!<\/p>\n<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nMy mum found this piece of cloth\u00a0for me somewhere on a flee market.\u00a0Maybe it was\u00a0part of a\u00a0wedding dress (or voile)\u00a0
\nOne can fantasyze\u00a0about it a lot but it certainly fits this layout
\n– and the silver thread sure sparkles!\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/a>As background I\u00a0used christmas scrappaper from “basic grey” (you still can see a little bit of\u00a0the Santa image in the big picture) and red velvet relief paper from “making memories” (it took
\ncourage to tear\u00a0
\nthat!) I framed the photo\u00a0using embroidering thread.<\/p>\n
\n<\/a><\/a>I\u00a0kept this characters in
\nstore for ages
\n– and always wondered why I bought\u00a0it in the
\nfirst place –
\n(as you might know by now I’m not the blingbling type!) but now I’m glad
\nI had these.
