SPRING<\/p>\n Well, in real life, it\u00a0isn’t spring yet.\u00a0But hopes are running high since the\u00a0sun DID shine for a few minutes this afternoon and the old blackbird couple\u00a0circles above my back yard again. Maybe I should\u00a0put signs in my garden to point out the way to the old nest, they seem to look for it but\u00a0forgot the directions… Life is…. the WORD of the week over at Scrapping out Loud!<\/p>\n And I could use this word together with this challenge:<\/p>\n “For this week’s challenge we would like you to Tear your papers…and use them on this weeks layout. Remember this is the last week to play for our monthly rak so if you haven’t played yet this month you can still enter by playing and leaving us a comment and a link to your layout by next Monday March 2nd at 9pm. Use this week’s Sketch and Word and you’ll have 3 chances to win!”<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n I made it even more difficult \u00a0<\/p>\n …and he\u00a0picked that brown-red-orange paper I had laying around for a couple of years…\u00a0OOPS! But hey, I challenged myself\u00a0so I had to\u00a0go through with it! No givin’ in here!\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0 My\u00a04-challenge LO!\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Chipboard alpha’s, \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n My son\u00a0named the words Paint behind the \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The striped paper (behind the picture) and these edges come from my new Sassafras kit!!! \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n OK, so far for this lay out.
\nThis arrived last Thursday – finally!
\nI was\u00a0expecting it for a few weeks already!
\nIt’s the Sassafras kit
\nI won over at ScrapMojo with my “Christmas lay out”\u00a0
\nIt took\u00a0seven (yes, 7<\/strong>) weeks to get here…
\nbut finally I received it
\nand although some
\npatterned paper\u00a0show
\nChristmas trees and
\nlittle reindeer’s, I’m
\nvery happy with it!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nThis little bundle includes spring-like little papers.
\nI fell in love with it right away!\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nThey build it last year\u00a0and raised a couple of\u00a0tiny little birdies\u00a0in it which\u00a0I watched getting flying lessons!
\nAlso, snowdrops and purple crocusses\u00a0began to bloom\u00a0next to my front door so I’m telling ya, spring\u00a0is just around the corner!<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nRead that last sentence?
\nI did play all month but, greedy as I am
\nand closer to the end of the month,\u00a0
\nI threw in Jessica’s sketch\u00a0once again\u00a0to\u00a0enlarge my chances!<\/p>\n
\nby challenging myself!
\nI let my son (I\u00a0picked a photo of him
\nto use on this lay out) choose the background paper he liked and I
\nwould work\u00a0with that….<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nI think I managed.
\nI tore paper.
\nI used the word.
\nI used the sketch.
\nI used\u00a0son’s choosen paper.
\nIt’s quit a simple
\nlay out.
\nIt’s not the best
\nI ever made.
\n(which one
\nwould that be?)
\nBut I’m satisfied.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\npainted ivory white
\n& coloured the edges
\nwith brown ink.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nhe wanted to have on this journaling paper.
\n(He had all the right too,
\nafter all, it’s HIS life
\nwe’re talking about here!)<\/p>\n
\njournaling paper
\ngave it just
\na little more body.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\n(Wanted to use something, ANYTHING,
\nfrom my new goodies!)\u00a0
\nand I framed
\nthe lay out
\nwith dark red
\nglitter glue.<\/p>\n
\nI’m working on a bigger project right now and I make pictures along the way, so in a couple of days you might find a tutorial here about how to make a little folded book like this<\/a>.
\nBut first, I’m gonna make my “blog-surfing-round” ’cause due to computer problems I couldn’t stay online long enough to do that the last couple of days. (My beloved fixed it again! He’s a GENIUS when it comes to computers!)
