I was 19 and I\u00a0liked the advertising<br \/>\ncampaign! There was a\u00a0beautiful\u00a0lady (skinny, of course) and the<br \/>\nEiffel Tower (of course!) and the smell was described as something<br \/>\nwith &#8220;wild roses&#8221;. At that very moment, I knew.<br \/>\nThis will be\u00a0MY perfume!<br \/>\nSo I went to a perfume shop to smell the stuff &#8211; and I was right!<br \/>\nI wear that perfume ever since. Yes, I know it&#8217;s expensive.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s pure luxury! And yes,\u00a0I tried different odours&#8230;<br \/>\nbut no. &#8220;Paris&#8221; is my perfume.\u00a0<br \/>\nIn fact, I heard several times from\u00a0friends:\u00a0&#8220;I was\u00a0there-and-there<br \/>\nand I smelled you come by, but it wasn&#8217;t you&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Just a couple of weeks ago,\u00a0I met a fabulous lady on the\u00a0Internet.<br \/>\nHer name is Cynthia, she makes marvelous scraps and\u00a0you should<br \/>\ndefinitely check out\u00a0her blog &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cynthiafriesehassanein.typepad.com\/technicolorpostcards\/\">Technicolorpostcards<\/a>&#8220;.<br \/>\nAlthough (or because?) she lives in the USA,<br \/>\nshe&#8217;s way over her head madly in love with France and Paris&#8230;\u00a0<br \/>\nI saw some postcards and old pictures of Paris on her blog,<br \/>\nand got inspired!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And so, dear readers&#8230;. my Lotus lay out is all about perfume this week!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/01_paris.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/02_paris.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4362\" title=\"02_paris\" src=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/02_paris.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"502\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I turned the sketch 90 degrees<br \/>\nI scanned an old postcard (see that Cyntia?) and used the<br \/>\noriginal perfume box\u00a0on this lay out.<br \/>\nI copied the YSL logo an cut it out\u00a0of golden paper.<br \/>\nThe &#8220;model&#8221;\u00a0is cut out of\u00a0Graphic 45 pattern paper (collection &#8220;fashionista&#8217;s&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>The background paper is from the \u201cParis Nights Collection\u201d &#8211; GCD studios.<br \/>\n(Could it have been anything else?) I\u00a0painted some\u00a0gesso\u00a0over it though &#8211;<br \/>\nto soften it a bit &#8217;cause the journal print was too intense.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The torn paper in the middle is another paper from that line,<br \/>\nand it is flocked. Although it doesn&#8217;t show that much on the photo,<br \/>\nthe black print is like velvet. This is such a marvelous,\u00a0glamorous\u00a0paper!<br \/>\nAlmost a shame to tear it (but I did!)<\/p>\n<p>And when this lay out was finished, I sprayed my perfume over it!<br \/>\n(It&#8217;s a pity you can&#8217;t smell that on my blog&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/03_paris_detail01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4363\" title=\"03_paris_detail01\" src=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/03_paris_detail01-300x223.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Detail<\/strong>:<br \/>\nI copied the name<br \/>\nof the perfume<br \/>\nto use it as my title.<br \/>\n(I used a golden<br \/>\npen and black<br \/>\nsharpie)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/04_paris_detail02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4364\" title=\"04_paris_detail02\" src=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/04_paris_detail02-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Detail<\/strong>:<br \/>\nAnd this is<br \/>\nthe original<br \/>\nbox of my<br \/>\nperfume!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And OH,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lotuspaperie.blogspot.com\/2009\/08\/introducing-bree.html\">Bree is the Guest Designer <\/a>this Month at Lotus Paperie.<br \/>\nShe&#8217;s\u00a0crazy talented, she&#8217;s my partner in crime with the &#8220;Alice in<br \/>\nWonderland Journal&#8221; she&#8217;s a true blogbuddy, she&#8217;s a\u00a0DEAR FRIEND!<br \/>\nRead all about her and\/or scraplift one of her lay outs!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I also made\u00a0another page for\u00a0the &#8220;Book of Me&#8221;\u00a0using the daily prompts<br \/>\nover at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cocoadaisy.com\/\">Cocoa Daisy<\/a>. The original story by Hans Christian<br \/>\nAndersen, where in the end the poor mermaid\u00a0throws herself into the water<br \/>\nand becomes foam on the waves&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>2. Actually, I don&#8217;t like little children.<br \/>\nThey only become interesting to me when they\u00a0reach the\u00a0age when you<br \/>\ncan talk reason with them.<\/p>\n<p>3. I&#8217;m not much of a &#8220;sweet tooth&#8221;, but I LOVE &#8220;chips&#8221;<br \/>\n(is that what you call it?)<\/p>\n<p>4. I\u00a0CAN&#8217;T STAND\u00a0amusement parks.<br \/>\nI\u00a0hate Disneyland (been in &#8220;Disneyland Paris) or any other of those<br \/>\nplaces. Too crowdy, too noisy, too much bling bling, too commercial,<br \/>\ntoo expensive, too much &#8220;TOO&#8221;&#8230;!<\/p>\n<p><em>(Aaaahhhh, I know &#8211;\u00a0you don&#8217;t find my list\u00a0interesting at all!<br \/>\nYa&#8217;re only reading this &#8217;cause you&#8217;re\u00a0looking for\u00a0another juicy secret,<br \/>\naren&#8217;t you?!)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>5. I got my first kiss at 15 in a discotheque. While kissing, I thought<br \/>\nsomething like:\u00a0&#8220;this will be a moment to remember my whole life,<br \/>\nso let&#8217;s\u00a0listen to\u00a0the music that&#8217;s playing right now to go with the memory&#8221;.<br \/>\nAnd so I concentrated on the song that was playing &#8211;\u00a0<br \/>\nI shouldn&#8217;t have done that! It was &#8220;A Whole Lot a Rosie&#8221; by AC\/DC<\/p>\n<p><em>(Not juicy enough you say? Bad luck! This is the juiciest\u00a0you&#8217;re gonna get!)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>6. If I could sing (which I can&#8217;t!) I would love to sing Country music!<br \/>\nNot that I like that music in particular, but it must be sooo satisfying to sing<br \/>\n&#8220;with a cry in your voice&#8221; (I would start with the ultimate man\/love\/hate song<br \/>\n&#8220;Stand by your man&#8221;! I LOVE the sentence &#8220;&#8230; &#8217;cause after all, he&#8217;s just a man&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>7. If I want to, I can interfere in my dreams! I\u00a0read about it when I was\u00a016, and<br \/>\nI wanted to\u00a0know how to do that too.
