Doesn’t this look like the ultimate summer picture?<\/p>\n As inhabitants we know where to find the quiet, hidden little beaches – A sunny – but windy – day. The ultimate “walk on the beach weather”!<\/p>\n Back in Eindhoven, I miss the sound of the waves!<\/p>\n Feet in the water – taking photo’s while my son takes (better!) photo’s of me…<\/p>\n The things you find on the beach…. like strange shells…<\/p>\n … or a wreck! (There’s a history about this, but I won’t tell it here. Too long…<\/p>\n … so just enjoy the pictures I took from it!)<\/p>\n My mum, my dad and my son. Relaxing, talking, laughing and…<\/p>\n … me smoking, of course!<\/p>\n After our walk, we payed\u00a0 this bastion\/citadel a visit (“Fort Rammekens”)<\/p>\n Old (1557) and – at some points – cold and dark<\/p>\n And of course we climbed the walls!<\/p>\n Once\u00a0in a\u00a0year, there’s a special “festivity” in my old hometown… They start with\u00a0races for “dressed” people\u00a0and here’s Elvis. These girls aren’t nervous at all!<\/p>\n An old\u00a0red Ferrari – it made\u00a0that growling sound when the engine started – … and here they go! I know, it’s silly, but I liked it a lot ’cause I grew up with It’s not all “dressed and slowly riding around…” These are the specials! Those mopeds look like toys, but these “special men” wore protective clothes<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\naway from the tourists who over-populate the other\u00a0coast areas.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nIt’s called the “Solex race”
\nA “Solex” is a particular brand of a small moped – I don’t think they make
\nthose anymore – it’s a thing from the past – but in my old village they RACE
\nthese things….<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nMeditating or – nervously – preparing for his race…<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nserves as “safety car” and checks the racing track before the start…<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nthese people and know a lot of them since childhood!<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nThey go FAST (those boys spend Months tuning their “Solexes”!) and make
\na lot of NOISE!!!<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nand helmets.<\/p>\n
