{"id":5336,"date":"2009-10-05T11:46:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-05T09:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/?p=5336"},"modified":"2025-09-19T12:59:21","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T10:59:21","slug":"horrifying","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/horrifying\/","title":{"rendered":"Horrifying story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Image this:<br \/>\nOne day you wake up and and a blur spot has appeared in your right eye.<br \/>\nYou ask your partner if he\/she sees it.<br \/>\nHe\/she looks into your eyes but doesn&#8217;t see anything&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>During the day, the spot in your eye grows.<br \/>\nAnd grows.<br \/>\nAnd turns from blur to\u00a0pink\u00a0to red\u00a0to black.<br \/>\nIn less then 34 hours, you can&#8217;t see anything anymore with\u00a0that eye&#8230;<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re blind.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/01_blind.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5338\" title=\"01_blind\" src=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/01_blind-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You go to<br \/>\nthe doctor.<br \/>\nYou have to<br \/>\nhave surgery<br \/>\nright away.<br \/>\nYou go to<br \/>\nthe hospital<br \/>\nand they stick<br \/>\na needle<br \/>\ninto your eye&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s my dad&#8217;s story (the short version)<br \/>\nI wrote\u00a0that down\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/?p=5130\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And I\u00a0wrote down\u00a0the (long) version in my Art Journal&#8230;<br \/>\n(I warn you for a\u00a0horrifying picture!)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/02_blind.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5345\" title=\"02_blind\" src=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/02_blind.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(I used encyclopedia paper as a background &#8211; pages about eyes and retina &#8211;<br \/>\nmagazine picture &#8211; the small eye &#8211; gesso, acrylic paint, spray ink and a black<br \/>\nand white sharpie.<br \/>\nThe photo is a still from the famous surreal cult movie &#8220;Un chien Andalou&#8221;<br \/>\nby the\u00a0Spanish\u00a0director Luis Bu\u00f1uel and artist Salvador Dal\u00ed.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/03_blind.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5346\" title=\"03_blind\" src=\"https:\/\/maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/03_blind-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe\u00a0light in his eye returned<br \/>\nafter the surgery, but the<br \/>\nvision is still very, very blur.<br \/>\nHe can still only see with<br \/>\none eye.
