Ik maak een boekje en doe ze allemaal besloot ik. Over de jaren &#8216;0<br \/>\nwist ik niet veel. Mijn overgrootouders trouwden en Nout kwam met &#8220;de 1e<br \/>\nTour de France&#8221;. De rest zocht ik op Internet&#8230;<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>&#8220;Scrap your favorite decade&#8221; was the latest challenge at t.a.a.f.o.m.f.t. and<br \/>\nI couldn&#8217;t choose. So I decided to make a mini album and do them all.<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t knew much about the &#8216;0 years. My great-grandparent married and\u00a0<br \/>\nNout knew the first Tour de France was organized.\u00a0I found the other facts<br \/>\non the Internet&#8230;<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/06_decades_pag03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6151\" title=\"06_decades_pag03\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/06_decades_pag03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1910-1920<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling Dutch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">En dan naar de jaren &#8217;10, waar ik ook niets van weet. Oh wacht, de Titanic<br \/>\nliep op een ijsberg in 1912. Ik heb de film nooit gezien maar de beelden zijn<br \/>\nnatuurlijk bekend. Papa noemde Mata Hari, de beroemde spionne. Een<br \/>\nNederlandse nog wel. Ze heette Griet Zelle en kwam uit Friesland.<br \/>\nDe eerste wereldoorlog moet ook nog worden vernoemd&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">On to the &#8217;10, and I don&#8217;t know anything about those years also. Oh, wait,<br \/>\nthe Titanic crashed on an iceberg in 1912. I haven&#8217;t seen the movie, but the<br \/>\nimages are well known. My dad mentioned Mata Hari, the famous spy.<br \/>\nA Dutch woman. Her name was Griet Zelle and she was born in Friesland.<br \/>\nAnd of course I had to mention the first Word War&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/07_decades_pag04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6152\" title=\"07_decades_pag04\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/07_decades_pag04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1920-1930<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling Dutch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">De jaren &#8217;20 zijn al wat bekender. De Jugendstil kreeg ik al vroeg mee door de<br \/>\ntegels die pa in de antiekwinkel had en de Art Deco heeft mij altijd kunnen<br \/>\nbekoren. Later leerde ik ook de mode uit die tijd kennen. Het was zelfs<br \/>\neen tijdje hip in mijn eigen twenties. Het stond mij wel, zo&#8217;n kapsel en een<br \/>\nCharleston jurk. Ik was een fashionista&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>The twenties are better known. I learned about the Jugendstil on an early age<br \/>\nbecause of the tiles my dad had in his antique shop and the Art Deco always<br \/>\nenchanted me. Later on I learned about the fashion. It even was fashionable<br \/>\nfor a while when I was in my own twenties. It even flatters me,\u00a0this twenties<br \/>\nhairstyle\u00a0and a Charleston dress. I was a fashionista&#8230;<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/08_decades_pag05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6153\" title=\"08_decades_pag05\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/08_decades_pag05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1930-1940<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling Dutch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Nu komen er bekende gezichten in beeld. Mijn opa&#8217;s en oma&#8217;s trouwden in de<br \/>\njaren &#8217;30. Oma &#8220;veugel&#8221; op d&#8217;r\u00a0burgers. Ik heb haar eigenlijk nooit gevraagd<br \/>\nwanneer ze haar Zeeuwse dracht aflegde. Opa Barentsen stierf toen ik nog<br \/>\nmaar 2 was en met de andere grootouders hadden we geen contact. Ik moest<br \/>\nhet in mijn jeugd dus met 1 oma doen. Haar zus Jans was me liever&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Some familiar faces come in sight now. My grandparents married each other<br \/>\nin the thirties. Grandma &#8220;Bird&#8221; in civilian clothes. I never asked her when<br \/>\nshe took of the Zeeuws costume. Grandpa Barentsen died when I was only<br \/>\ntwo years old en we didn&#8217;t speak to the other grandparents. I had to manage<br \/>\nmy youth with only one grandma. I loved her sister Jans more&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/09_decades_pag06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6154\" title=\"09_decades_pag06\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/09_decades_pag06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1940-1950<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling Dutch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">In 1940 zijn papa &amp; mama geboren maar de eerste jaren stonden vooral in het<br \/>\nteken van de oorlog en &#8211; op Walcheren &#8211; de inundatie. In 1945 werd Nederland<br \/>\nbevrijd en kon de weder opbouw beginnen. De jeugd van mijn beide ouders<br \/>\nstond in het teken van zee, zand en water. Mooie verhalen&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">(Ach kijk nou, wat een lief ventje! Mijn vader.<br \/>\nIk kreeg zijn karakter en ogen.)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">(Ach kijk nou, wat een lief meisje! Mijn moeder.<br \/>\nIk kreeg haar mond en haar oren&#8230;)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">My parents are born in 1940 but the first years of the forties were all about<br \/>\nthe war and &#8211; on Walcheren &#8211; the inundation.(*) The Netherlands were<br \/>\nliberated in 1945 and after that, the rebuilding began. My parents&#8217; youth<br \/>\nwas dominated by sea, sand and water. Beautiful stories&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">(Ah, look at him. What a sweet little boy. My father.<br \/>\nI got his\u00a0nature and his eyes.)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Ah, look at her. What a\u00a0sweet little girl. The Everly Brothers en Elvis waren hip.<br \/>\nAmerika kwam naar Europa via radio &amp; T.V. Mijn vader werkte als machinist<br \/>\nop een boot. Mijn moeder speelde gitaar en ze kregen verkering. Een<br \/>\nvriendenclub, juke boxen en rock &#8216;n roll. Petticoats en vetkuiven. Het moet<br \/>\neen mooie tijd geweest zijn&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">(intussen werd in een andere plaats op 28-12-1953\u00a0mijn lief\u00a0geboren)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Aah, those teenage years of my parents! The Everly Brothers and Elvis were<br \/>\ntrendy. America came to Europe through radio and T.V. My dad worked as<br \/>\nan engineer on a ship. My mum played the guitar amd they dated. A circle<br \/>\nof friends, juke boxes and Rock &#8216;n Roll. Petticoats and quiffs. It must have<br \/>\nbeen a lovely time&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">(In the meantime, in another place, my beloved was born on 12\/28\/1953)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/11_decades_pag08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6156\" title=\"11_decades_pag08\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/11_decades_pag08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1960-1970<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling Dutch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Ik werd geboren in 1963 en 2 jaar later mijn broertje Ricky. Mijn vader koopt<br \/>\nsamen met een vriend een boot en wordt visser. Mama draagt lang haar,<br \/>\nlange wikkelrokken, grote oorringen, en borduurt bloemetjes op haar broek.<br \/>\nSamen zoeken we klavertjes vier in de speeltuin. Ik vind het een feest om<br \/>\nnaar school te gaan. Juf Dronkers lacht een beetje raar &#8211; &#8220;achteruit&#8221; &#8211; maar<br \/>\nze is heel lief. Ik speel met Petra en Karien.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">I was born in 1963 and two years later my brother Ricky. My dad\u00a0buys a boat.<br \/>\ntogether with a friend,\u00a0and becomes a fisherman. My mum wears long hair,<br \/>\nlong wrapped skirts, big earrings en embrioders little flowers on her jeans.<br \/>\nWe go to the village playground to search for four leaf clovers together.<br \/>\nI love to go to school. Although Mrs. Dronkers does laugh in a funny way<br \/>\n&#8211; &#8220;backwards&#8221; &#8211;\u00a0 she&#8217;s very sweet. Lagere school. Meester den Hartog. En fan van de Bay City Rollers.<br \/>\nGiechelen op onze kamers om jongens. Dagboeken vol verliefdheid. De eerste<br \/>\nzoen, mijn eerste vriendje. &#8216;s Zaterdags op stap. Royal en de Hooizolder.<br \/>\nHardrock en disco&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Dad starts an antiques shop, mum writes books and I am close friends with<br \/>\nKarin &amp; Lena. My first kiss, my first boyfriend. Out on Saturdaynights.<br \/>\n&#8220;Royal&#8221; and &#8220;de Hooizolder&#8221;. Wilde jaren. Jaren waarin veel gebeurde. Trouwen en scheiden.<br \/>\nVerhuizingen. Affaires. Nieuwe vrienden en vriendinnen. Stationstraat<br \/>\nM&#8217;burg. Lenny. Tilburg. Studeren. Samenwonen. Eindhoven. Afstuderen.<br \/>\nIn deze jaren werd ik pas echt volwassen.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">The eighties. Wild years. Years in which a lot happened. I married. I divorced.<br \/>\nI moved. Had affaires. Made new boy and girlfriends. Stationstr. M&#8217;burg(*).<br \/>\nLenny. Tilburg(*). Study. Living together. Eindhoven(*). Graduate. These are<br \/>\nthe\u00a0years in which I really became an adult.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>(*) Places I lived.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/14_decades_pag11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6159\" title=\"14_decades_pag11\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/14_decades_pag11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1990-2000<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling Dutch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Een nieuwe generatie dient zich aan. Op 5 juli 1992 wordt mijn zoon Nout<br \/>\ngeboren. De eerste jaren zijn niet makkelijk met een huilbaby en een aflopende<br \/>\nrelatie met zijn vader. In 1996 vind ik een baan en bloei helemaal op. Ik kom<br \/>\nMarius tegen en na een periode vol twijfel ga ik alleen wonen. Met zowel Nout<br \/>\nals mij gaat alles vanaf dat moment fantastisch. We zijn gelukkig&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">A new generation presents itself. On the 5th of July 1992, my son Nout was<br \/>\nborn. The first years aren&#8217;t easy with a &#8220;cry baby&#8221; and a relationship that&#8217;s<br \/>\nmoving to the end. I find a job in 1996, and I blossom. I meet Marius and<br \/>\nafter a period filled with doubts, I decide to leave Nout&#8217;s father and live<br \/>\non my own. Right from that moment, both Nout and I are doing great.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;re happy&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em><br \/>\n\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/15_decades_pag12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6160\" title=\"15_decades_pag12\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/old-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/15_decades_pag12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2000-2010<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling Dutch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #003366;\">De relatie met Marius verdiept en in 2001 kopen we samen en huis en word ik<br \/>\nmede vennoot van het bedrijf. Nout groeit uit tot een geweldige jonge man&#8230;<br \/>\nPROOST!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Journaling English:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">My relationship with Marius deepens and we buy a house together in 2001.<br \/>\nI also become a co-owner of the company. Nout grows out to be a marvelous<br \/>\nyoung man&#8230; CHEERS!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I used lots of different materials and techniques all through the album.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s just too much to list it, but you can shoot me an e-mail if you have<br \/>\nany questions about the used stuff or techniques on a particular page.<\/p>\n<p>I also hope the journaling is understandable, it was quite some work to<br \/>\ntranslate it all!
