\npieces are!<\/p>\n
It wasn’t good as
\na whole but the
\nlittle pieces look
\nintriguing don’t
\nyou think?<\/p>\n
This is what my
\nfriend Patty calls

I saved the pieces and you might see them pop up
\non a layout one of these days!<\/p>\n

And I will show you my next layout in a minute (’cause yes, after the But before For all you ..<\/p>\n I live in the Netherlands and this is a map of the Netherlands When I was eighteen I was very familiar with that town – it was one of the two towns on our Anyway, I moved out of the house when I was eighteen and lived in I used a map of the area as a background which I gessoed to make it less Journaling:<\/strong> Detail:<\/strong><\/p>\n ..<\/p>\n And here’s another zentangle page I did in the evenings…<\/p>\n ..<\/p>\n I’m looking forward to the weekend! \nI come to
\nthat, I want
\nto give a
\nlittle \u201cgeographic
\nlesson\u201d to
\nexplain where
\nthat city
\n(and my
\nhomeland)
\nis situated.<\/p>\n
\nAmericans
\nand Asians
\n(and more?)
\nthis is a map
\nof Europe.<\/p>\n

\nI spend my
\nchildhood
\nright at the beach.
\nThat province is called
\n\u201cZeeland\u201d and it
\nexist of many islands
\nconnected with each
\nother by dikes, dams
\nand bridges – so I lived
\non a peninsula.<\/p>\n
\nI moved from our
\nsmall hamlet to the
\n“big city” Middelburg
\n(which is a provincial
\ntown and not that
\nbig at all!)<\/p>\n
\n“Island” (the other one is “Vlissingen” – which has a big harbour) and
\nI went to secondary school in Middelburg (and NO, we don’t have school
\nbuses over in the Netherlands, so I cycled up and down every day!)<\/p>\n
\nMiddelburg for only a few years… but those were GREAT years!
\n(I shared an apartment with my friend Lenny “just across the bridge”
\non the top right photo on the LO) I still love this town (“city” is too big
\na word for it) and I feel like coming home when I visit it!<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nstrong – except for the spot where the city lies – and some tiny pearl stickers.
\nI outlined the photos and the name “Middelburg” on the map with my sewing
\nmachine. The journaling is written on strips of Vellum which I stitched onto
\nthe background.<\/p>\n
\n“I remember the bell of the bridge, the silence of the monastery garden,
\nthe gaudy town hall, the tower “Long John”, the carillon that sung above
\nmy head, the back streets where I broke my heels on the cobblestones
\nand how happy I was here…”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
\nMy mum invited me to go with her to the “Poezie festival Landgraaf<\/a>”
\n(that’s a poetry festival” – my mum is a writer and a poet and she has to give
\nworkshops at the festival to children on Sunday)<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nLook at this…
\nand the weather
\nforecast predicts
\nnice weather
\nthis weekend!<\/p>\n
\n(which is an old
\nestate) is surrounded
\nby nature so
\nwe might go
\nfor a long walk on
\nSaturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
