Awarded & Chronicles #453

February 7, 2018 By Marit 26 Comments

Now that was a nice surprise to find in my mailbox yesterday…

“Hi Marit.
My name is Anuj Agarwal. I’m Founder of Feedspot.
I would like to personally congratulate you as your blog Marit’s Paper World has been selected by our panelist as one of the Top 30 Paper Art Blogs on the web. I personally give you a high-five and want to thank you for your contribution to this world. This is the most comprehensive list of Top 30 Paper Art Blogs on the internet and I’m honored to have you as part of this!”

My first thought was that this must be a joke but after a little research I found out I wasn’t being fooled. As one of my FB-followers says: “it is all legit, and Feedspot is basically an RSS feed reader.” So being in this list means that there are many peeps following my blog, be it via RSS or otherwise. That made me dive into the statistics of this blog and yes, I DO have many readers. On a top day, 2595 people visit me and the statistics show “RSS Feeds 8163. ”

To keep it that way, I better keep on blogging eh 😉

So here we go with the weekly photo of my desk for What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Julia at Stamping Ground is the hostess of this weekly event and in case you have no idea what it is and/or want to join, Julia explains it all here.

WOYWW #453

There’s not much action on the desk today is there? I hope that mug of black coffee will help me get started!

On the art journal stack to the left you can see my “Chronicles” art journal and yes, I am all up to date with creating the weeks. Here’s the last two spreads (click on the photos to enlarge.)

The Chronicles of Marit 2018 – Week 4

The photo of the girl on this page is a still from the Swedisch tv crime series “Midnight Sun” which my beloved and I watched in week 4 (and yes, since a couple of weeks we know what ‘binge watching’ is 😉 ) Besides murder (after all, it’s a crime series) “Midnight Sun” also shines a light on the Sami people and I was blown away by the music – just listen to this opening ‘song’ of the series.

The Chronicles of Marit 2018 – Week 5

Thanks for visiting my blog,
I hope your day will be wonderful,
do something nice
watch a Swedisch crime series.

I’d have been suspicious too as there is some real spam that appears in my junk box – but great news as it’s real! Congrats on the viewing figures, that’s amazing. I love my stats page on my blog and am always fascinated to see where readers come from. Am loving your journal pages, they’re always interesting to see.

Hi Marit, that was a great piece of news. It’s always wise to be cautious, I agree. What always surprises me with blog stats,is the proportion of visitors to comments left. I often find a post has had 2-300 visits, but maybe only 10-30 comments! Have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #11 XxX

Hello Marit, I’d have been equally suspicious – the amount of spam that lands in my inbox would make anyone just a bit wary. Glad it turned out to be good news for you though so congratulations. You had me off to look at my stats page too – interesting reading. Your journal pages are great – love the seals. Have a great week, Elizabeth , x #30

Hi Marit, so it’s legit. I’ve had one a fair while back and thought it was spam so I spammed it. Congrats too and for being more diligent than I was and checking it out.. very curious… 😀
Stats are funny things as Shazsilverwolf says. But nice to have feedback isn’t it!
I do love the view of your desk. It’s so meticulous I wonder if it ever gets messy???
Thanks for visiting my new encourager, Laurie too!
Thanks for sharing your crafty space!

I like the post you wrote to me today! 🙂
Language is my thing too. And did you know that Dutch reminds
about how people is Stockholm talked in Medieval times? I wish
I could sneak around in the old quarters and just listen to people.
Wonder how much I can understand?

I´m trying to work with and Art journal too but didn´t do many
pages at all. Yet, I want though. 🙂

    Ha det bra du också!
    Happy WOYWW,

Congratulations Marit! Well deserved I would say! I LOVE your journal pages! I am so torn between journals, I used to do pages such as yours, chronicling my life, but then I started writing my pages on the computer, and spent more time with Art Journals not about my life. I see yours and I want to get back into it! Maybe I will. . .thanks for your visit! Have a wonderful week! Lindart, now #35

Now that’s something different than an African prince wanting to marry you (you should watch James Veitch on YT, he has a unique way of dealing with scam emails XD ) Congrats on being such a successful blogger. I really should start getting back into that habit again.

    Love your chronicals pages <3

And yay for the new apartment!!! The centre of Middelburg is so beautiful. Wouldn’t want to trade it for my apartment in The Hague though 🙂 My roots may be in Zeeland, but my heart’s definitely in The Hague 🙂

    Enjoy this summery day

    Love, Michelle
