Blue against blue

June 5, 2020 By Marit 10 Comments

Even in the mids of these strange (Corona)time, days seem to go by so quickly… another Friday already, and another haiku

Friday haiku

een ferme streep scheidt
waterblauw van hemelsblauw
het jacht kent zijn plaats
a stripe separates
sea blue from firmament blue
the yacht knows its place

The photo was taken by my friend Lena Schreijenberg

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart

The Chronicles of Marit 2020 – Week 21

On this spread I did what I love most these days: draw a face to a cut-out (magazine model) body and some lettering… I can spend hours and hours painting these letters with a fine brush; it’s relaxing and very meditating.

It’s raining today (farmers will be pleased) and finally the book I reserved at the library came in: The Seven Sisters – Lucinda Riley. I only re-read books last month, and all the books I own are kinda ‘heavy’ (literature) – I longed for something more easy to read but the library closed its doors during the lock down. However, it opened its doors again last month (to pick up reservations only) and I look forward to spend this rainy weekend on the couch with this ‘page turner’ (at least, that’s what they say about this book series, have you read it?)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, enjoy your weekend!

Maybe we should be like the yacht, knowing our place.

Footsteps in the sand, people walking to an unknown destination. Life goes on.

I want to slip along those paths of blue… in your haiku and Lena’s photo… and I had not heard of these books and looked them up and I am incredibly intrigued to read them, Marit! Thanks! I always love seeing your art-making and that beautiful lettering. Have a wonderful weekend curled up in the rain, reading. Big hug to you.

Excellent haiku. Such a calm sea. You must have a lot of patience for all that lettering.
