A lot has happened since my last blogpost and the events show on my art journal spreads… my beloved is not doing well and we spend a lot of time in hospitals. First because he’d had a heart attack: he had to undergo angioplasty and a stent was placed. Two days after that his retina started to detach. The ophthalmologist who did the surgery on him found a mole behind his retina. Further examination showed that it was a melanoma (cancer). Fortunately, no metastases were found in his organs, but the melanoma has to go… So this month he is being operated on again to put ‘markers’ around the tumor in his eye followed by proton radiation treatment. This is a very precise high-tech treatment but of course we are dreading it. The coming months will be tough…
In between my job and doctor-appointments, creating in my art journal brought a bit of distraction. I had to depict heavy subjects but nevertheless, the spreads still look kinda nice…
