I am glad I can keep my promise and am able to post within a week! I have been busy over the past days and I’m happy to say it was almost all art-related. First, I planned a new workshop – a one-day workshop in September creating mini journals. I uploaded the workshop to my shop on the website. That’s always quite some work as I offer, and write the text, both in English and Dutch) and will send out a news letter later this week to point it out (yep, I shamelessly advertise!) Also, I re-arranged my website a bit so the workshop-menu should be more clear. I added a workshop schedule too… I’d love to receive your feedback so if you would be willing to go to my website and let me know what you think: I’ll be forever grateful 🙂
More artsy stuff… I visited the art-fair in Middelburg last week but that was a bit of a disappointment… too much commercial stuff! A lot of jewelry (I don’t ‘have a thing’ for jewelry) and a lot of Zeeland-based sh^#t…
there’s a thing here in Zeeland that is called the ‘Zeeland button.’
It’s a shape build up of circles (the top button in the photo) and jewelry like that was part of the old Zeeland costume, but lately EVERYTHING is made in this shape. Soap. Earrings. baking tins, carpets…. and you can find the ‘Zeeland button’ on towels, duvet covers, notebooks, bike bells and yes, paintings…. I get it, it’s fun for tourists to buy stuff shaped like this but I’ve seen enough of it by now…
OK, enough of the venting… let’s go to the good stuff!
