Goodmorning lovelies! I join the woyww-group today ’cause I do have time to visit my old desk-bloghop-friends later this week. I even think that will be one of the few things I will be able to do because later today I will have cataract-surgery on my left eye. A few weeks ago they fixed the right eye already so I know the drill…. after surgery, I’m not allowed to work for one week: not bend over my table for hours. So either conservating old documents (my job at Zeeuws Archief) or spending hours in my atelier to play in my art journal will be out of the question. However, if all goes well I am allowed to look television and I will be able to spend some time at the computer… after all, I sit straight doing that.
So what am I up to these days? A lot of drawing. You can see that on my workdesk: pens and watercolour paint!
My son and I collaborated and we make weekly drawings, giving each other new prompts or themes each week. This is the 17th week already and I created a few ‘weekly drawings’ earlier, knowing I wouldn’t be able to do so in the coming days. (Like to see our drawings? Click HERE)
I’m behind in creating (and showing) my weekly art journal pages (we’re in week 23 already) but here’s the last ones I made
The chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 18
The chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 19
The chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 20 (with closed postcard)
I received that postcard after my first cataract-surgery and it was a good laugh when I opened it… my aunt wrote in BIG letters how they wish me well!
The chronicles of Marit 2021 – Week 20 (with open postcard)
So… wish me luck with the second surgery and I hope to ‘see you’ (and SEE you real good!) later this week.

Good luck with your second surgery. I’m sure you will do fine, since you’re a pro at it now (grin). I always love seeing your desk, but those journal pages are out of this world. Absolutely gorgeous and each is so well done. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

How fantastic that you’re going to get ‘new’ eyes! Aren’t we lucky to live in these modern times where such surgery can help? Imagine living 100 years ago, it just wouldn’t have happened. Good luck with the second op, hope all goes well xx

Marit I love how you and your Son give each other prompts for drawing each week, what a grand family activity that must be. Beautiful art works shared in true Marit style. I’m sending best wishes and a virtual healing hug for you op later today. I hope you will soon be back to creating very very soon.

Best wishes, Marit. I feel like a bad friend staying out of touch for so many years. I really do peek in quite often, but like a spy…never saying a word except for a few clicks of the LIKE button. Now that it is summer, I will work to do better at keeping in touch.

Yes good luck with your surgery. Thanks for posting some pretty works. A little chuckle with the Big print ! I started writing to my dad’s cousin 93 after dad passed and I used word documents with bold print and bigger letters. He got back to me “My eyes are fine, you can use normal ballpoints” He and Dad had 20/20 vision until they both died. Amazing. Happy WOYWW and have a great weekend

I do wish you luck with the second surgery, I won’t if it’s making you a it more nervous because you know what it’s going to be like? I hope not, the benefits far outweigh being nervous. It’s fab that you and your son are collaborating, I am browsing through you link slowly and realised that I’d got so caught up in them that I forgot to come back here to comment! Your journal pages are grand, your week 19 page has great impact. Lovely to see you. Hope you have a quiet and upright week!!

Thank you for your visit to my blog, Marit, and for your kind words. I hope you are now fully over your own cancer. I have a friend who went through the same, a few years ago, and she is OK now. It can be a very nasty one. MRI on Wednesday and then we will know more. I am so glad you are already experiencing the benefit of your recent cataract surgery – you will soon be back to full activity again, I am sure!
