Good morning lovely ones, thanks for stopping by this Wednesday. You probably visit me to take a look at my work desk, after all it is “show your work desk” Wednesday (in short woyww – click the link to find out about it.) So let me show you what I am up to these days…
This is something else isn’t it?
This is not my atelier-desk but the coffee table in our living room (and NO, I am not drinking wine this early in the morning!! I took this photo yesterday late afternoon.) As you can see, I started a new crochet project. No blanket this time, I have crocheted four of those already and my beloved thinks that’s enough ‘grannies’ to have in the house. He’s right, of course.
So what is this?
Last week my mum and I went into town, ‘girls day out’ shopping, and I was looking for a nice Summer ‘bohemian dress or skirt’. I tried some dresses on but those didn’t fit right or weren’t to my liking… the next day this idea came to me: why not crochet a skirt?
Eureka!
I found a pattern to create this skirt, bought me cotton and started crocheting right away! I am slightly bigger *ahem* than the woman on the photo (the times I looked like that are long gone…) so I will probably definitely wear this skirt with a long blouse over it and I plan to add a lining to this skirt too, but I do like the pattern.
I work on the skirt at the end of the day, but the hours in the morning and early afternoon are still spend in my atelier… so here’s another Chronicles spread.
The Chronicles of Marit 2019 – Week 14
There’s some text blurred on this page because today is the birthday of my best friend Lena **happy birthday sweetie!** and the text refers to the present I got for her… I will visit her later today and give her the present but she might read this blog post before that.
I have visits and ‘things’ planned for the rest of the week and the days are pretty full, but I will try to visit my fellow deskers somewhere in or after the weekend. You all have a lovely week (sunshine and Spring temperatures here!) and a beautiful Easter weekend!
How I wish we were in Amsterdam for Easter but don’t think the time is right for me just yet. Did you get to Nijerk? So sad to have missed it but the timing was not right this year.
Lovely Chronicle pages but the Bo-ho skirt rather steals the show. That is fabulous! The kind of thing I would love to wear. I shall keep looking at it enviously.
Years ago (many many) my aunt used to crochet things for me to wear. She made some beautiful stuff. I can remember one dusky pink dress and a turquoise suit. I wonder what happened to them?
Just had another scroll up to look again – it really is lovely and I can’t wait to see how you go on with crocheting it.
Hugs, Neet 11 xx
We believe you that there isn’t wine in hat glass…lol! The crochet skirt looks amazing, good luck with making that…I bet yours will be better than the one in the picture: have a look at this

Well, happy birthday Lena! A mention in the chronicles of Marit is something! I love the skirt Marit, and like you, would need a lining at least to the knee, otherwise it’s fab…how creative you are dear girl. Your comment about the grannies made me laugh…I went to a craft show last weeekend and there were rather too many cardigans mad from granny squares for my eyes!
What a talents girl you are. Love the skirt….i’m sure you will look amazing in it too.
Hugs,

Wow Marit, that skirt is amazing! I am sure you will make a lovely job of it and look stunning in it! I agree with your hubby that you can have too many grannies… I’m into crocheting flowers and leaves these days!
Happy WOYWW,
