Collaboration project with my son Nout.
In March, ‘abstract work’ was on the menu but the infamous Covid virus got hold of my son… he was “out of the running” for about two weeks so we took an extra month to work with this theme.

While watching the Tirreno-Adriatico cycling race on TV, I was captivated by the landscapes of Tuscany. I suddenly saw abstract areas of color in it… and took a few quick photos to work with.

Love seeing these! Your series in different media show an interesting progression of abstraction from the original photograph. Your work, here, reminds me a bit of, Arthur Dove, one of my favorite abstractionists who created many wonderful abstract landscape paintings. My favorite of yours is your collage, and my favorite of Nout’s is his second (middle) collage with all of the overlapping papers. So great that the two of you have been doing these collaborations. It is always interesting to see how you each respond to the prompt. Will look forward to your future collaborations!
