Goodmorning lovely ones, hi there deskers! It’s been a long time since I joined the WOYWW-circle and showed you my desk – my last desk post was in November last year. Then came the Top 2000 blogparty and the New Year started with a lot of other ‘things’ that didn’t include posting a photo of my desk. My desk may look almost the same as last year but something did happened in my atelier… keep reading!
First, here’s my desk this morning. Nothing changed really, or it must be that box of Watersolubles…
When you are a really good looker (and rememberer) you might notice this box is bigger than the one I usually had on my desk. Yes, this is a new box! New to me that is.
At the beginning of the year, my art-friend Mandy called me and said she was cleaning and decluttering her studio – not just tidying a bit: she had a large clean-up going! She wants to focus more on her passion and ‘core business,’ which is watercoloring, and ‘throw out all the extra balast’. “If you have good use for it, you can have my acrylics. Do you want it?”
What a balast is to her, is a ‘must have’ for me: acrylic paints! So I went to see Mandy and she had a big box standing in her living room… I didn’t even have to look in it to know it was filled with happiness! I also bought the big box Neocolors from her (40 watersoluble crayons), which you can see on my desk, ’cause it holds more colors than my own box.
And so with all that new stuff coming in, I had to start decluttering, rearranging and cleaning my own atelier also, to make room for all those bottles of acrylic paint. There were different brands, the ones in my top drawer are Folk Art paints.
Did the Folk Art bottles have a colored dot on the lids so you can easily see what’s in it, the other bottles had not…
So I spend a day painting, cutting circles and gluing… now the bottles in the second drawer are marked also. These are Apple Barrel and Outdoor acrylics
The big box Mandy gave me also contained gel mediums, different colored varnishes, pots of modeling paste and stuff… oh my – did I do a happy dance! THANK YOU MANDY!
I end my post with another THANK YOU to my BELOVED, for building me this beautiful new website which has better galleries with bigger pictures of my art and more room to showcase my workshops (and show the work of participants in the online workshops.)
If you want to have a look, the website adress has stayed the same: www.maritspaperworld.com
And now I’m off to pay you, the other deskers, a visit to see if your year started as colorfull as mine!
Happy WOYWW. Great to see you back – I always love your neatly labelled photo. What a wonderful stash gift from your friend. I really want some Neocolors – they have been on my wish list for a while. I wouldn’t be so patient as you and paint/label up all the bottles of acrylics. I just have to hunt around in my Ikea trolley for the right colour! Ali x #22
There seems to be an awful lot of generous craft supplies sharing going on at the moment. But it’s a win win for everyone! Those who are decluttering are happy because the stuff is going onto someone who will use it and the recipients are happy because it’s like Christmas and New Year all come at once!!! Have fun with those paints, the colours are amazing!
Hugs LLJ 11 xxxx
Great to see you back Marit. I love how you store your paints and the dots of colour on top certainly make life easier. Happy New Year and look forward to seeing your weekly journals for 2018. Sarah #6/26
Afternoon Marit. What a wonderful gift! Do enjoy using them all. Seems like everyone is having a move around with their stash at the moment!

I couldn’t have resisted either! what fabulous goodies… I am intending to de-clutter this year but it won’t involve getting rid of craft stash I am sure! Thanks for the visit Helen #1
Wow, cool website – very impressive! Has it really been November since we last saw you? It seems much shorter to me then that. Quick, hide those paints before Mandy changes her mind and realises it was a big mistake to give them away LOL! JK (just kidding)! Have fun with your new colours! Thanks for visiting earlier. Happy belated WOYWW! zsuzsa #19
