Did you choose a word for this year?
Do you think of it still?
The word I choose at the beginning of this year was
AWARENESS
The Merriam-Webster Definition: an awareness of one’s own personality
or individuality
Definition of AWARE: 1. (archaic) watchful, wary 2. having or showing
realization, perception, or knowledge
Synonyms/related words: consciousness, lucidity, realization
I’m thinking a lot of this word these days.
I’m at a crossroads.
I stand there and hold my breath.
I have to choose.
Which way do I want to go?
I keep my silence and listen to my inner self.
I take the time to explore the far corners of my soul.
It is not always nice to face the things and feelings that lurk in those corners.
“Face your demons
Hear that inner voice
It calls, it cries for you
Just listen well”
(After Forever)
There’s not much more to say.
I need time.
Here’s week 20 in The Chronicles of Marit
It’s not a very nice page, and I’m not satisfied with it, but it’ll have to do…
See you soon dear ones.

Hele lieve groetjes – Irma
Sandra says
Inderdaad een verlichtende post, met die kruising! Doet me denken aan een quote die ik ooit eens heb opgeschreven: It’s better to go either way and later change your course than to just stand still! Dus ik zou zeggen…Follow your heart! Groetjes, Sandra
Chris Aiton says
My word for this year is Abundance as I want to focus on appreciating and loving what I have, which is so very very much – I am truly blessed! But I understand being at Crossroads – choices, decisions, and the Trickster is always at the Crossroads teasing and enticing us. Good luck in your quest!

I hope all is well with you my friend…I love your journal pg. I love the rich color and that tree.
Amanda (Scrappnbee) says
Love your OLW! and your journal! My OLW is Embrace, and it has been a great journey here! Thanks so much for sharing!
Kim Mailhot says
Life has many of those crossroad moments it would seem. Sometimes I wonder if I could just stay right where I am, plant my feet like the roots of a tree and stay there, swaying with the winds of change but not taking the journey…
I only know one thing for sure, and that is Love is the answer. Love for ourselves, love for this life…Love.
Sending you big bunches of it, Beautiful One.
Terri Kahrs says
Dearest Marit . . . why is it that whenever we’re at a crossroads, we’re standing there alone. May you have strength to take whatever steps necessary to begin your new journey. Many blessings with your decision. Hugs, Terri xoxo
PS Thank you for the tip to use a little heat to remove the masking tape. Works like a charm.

STERKTE meis!!

I need to reflect on my word more. Sounds like you have a lot weighing on your mind… I hope you find your way on that road.
Tracy says
I did have a word but have changed it as the months and changes in my life.
Love your photo. I also have a photo like this.
Your art journal page is lovely
Annemarie says
but i like your tree…at least you have your thoughts down.
My word is creativity.
Danielle says
You worry me Marit. What are you struggling with?
You know you can write me whenever you want! I have been to the crossroads, as you know.
I am sorry I couldn’t get here yesterday, blogger is having a breakdown again, and I can’t leave comments.
Be well friend.

Wikken en wegen, wat te doen. Ik ken dat! De boom op je pagina vind ik heel erg mooi. Ik hoop dat alles de goede kant voor je op gaat.
Rosie says
You carved the striped stamp! Bravo!
Ah, the crossroads… I agree with Kim about Love. And my word would’ve been Family, had I chosen one. They still come first, but I do understand indecision. We take baby steps towards our goal and I try to think that I am already living the life I want. That sometimes helps.
Your spread seems to reflect your mood. I wouldn’t presume to try and read your journalling, but I think life can be more than airy-fairy and pretty and orderly…
Hugs, xoxoxo

Awareness and crossroads I think they go hand in hand Marit. If you listen to your heart and soul you will be guided by your intuition.
My word for this year is “sharing” and I am having a wonderful time using this wonderful word.
Take care dear friend.
Hugs

I think this is an incredibly beautiful post Marit. I honor your journey and thank you for sharing. In my own heart–it’s best for us to face our demons and darkest parts of ourselves, so we can shed light and love on those parts of us that need it the most. Embrace the unknown–your greatest self is waiting there for you.
BIG Hugs! BIG Hugs!
