Hi there lovelies, how are you doing after another week in lock down… I hope this blogpost finds you healthy and well! I’m allright and so is my family. My beloved and I spend time watching old cycle races on tv (reruns of previous races, but most of the time we’ve forgotten who won so it’s still exciting to watch *lol*)
And of course I spend a lot of time in my atelier. Here’s how my desk looks at the moment.
Two weeks ago I wrote about the challenge group Dutch Dares, where I am a guest designer now (see this post.) Today, this challenge sketch was put online.
Here’s what I created with the sketch.
I went wild on the flowers ’cause this lay out is about my uncle who was a florist…
Last week I saw a friend of mine (hi Melouise!) post lovely collages. She was inspired by Laura Horn who offers a free e-course Abstract Collage Creations. Melouise gave me the link and I spend all weekend watching the video’s and creating collages. I loved the lessons and it reminded me of the Letters from the Wasteland collages I created years ago… Laura is such an easy going and good teacher: I highly recommend this course if you want to try abstract collage!
Here’s what I came up with. I am not totally satisfied about these but had fun creating.
I might collage some more in the next days, maybe start another “letters from…” series, we’ll see.
Enjoy your week, stay healthy and stay safe!
Hi Marit, love the layout for your uncle. Great take on the sketch. The abstracts are great too, really like ‘free’ feeling from them. Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #8 X
What a fab layout and the perfect backing for photos of a florist. Interesting abstract layouts too. I am watching lots of old sci-fi films at the moment. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7
What great photos. I love your desk and the windows would truly make me happy. I’ve done a variety of arts and crafts but I cannot seem to get easy collage to please me. I can on small surfaces ATC’s or the now 3×3 cards. So thanks for the heads up on learning, I’ll make time to visit. I love both the layouts you’ve shared. Stay safe, and do things you love to get through this mess.
Hi Marit. What a lovely page for your uncle – well done. Great fun with the sketch, too. A good time crafting. I had to laugh at the re-runs of cycling races… I’m just the same with murder mysteries. Can never remember how it all ended, so have to watch again!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Love the abstracts, I think that collaging is such a restful pastime and it uses up the stash. Well done!
Stay safe

Two lovely photos – you both seem so happy to be together – I am assuming that is you with your uncle? That is a lovely background you have used, so perfect with the flowers and such pretty colours.
I love your collaged cards, wish I could make them like this. When I try it looks a jumbled mess, yours are so artistic!
Thanks for sharing
Stay safe and well
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
I find it really interesting how different people interpret the sketches – I wouldn’t have thought of using that roses background in a million years but it works really well, especially when you told us about your uncle! Hope you’re keeping well and happy in these crazy times.

I’ve really enjoyed my catch up with your blog today. Love the LO with the flowers. Good to hear you’re fit and well.

I so love abstract collage, must pop over and have a look at the course. Pleased to hear you’re all okay, we’re doing fine so far. I love what you’ve made and the photos too. Take care and have a crafty woyww, Angela x17x
Aww love the page – such happy photos of you and your uncle. Take care and keep safe Soojay#19
Loving that page for your uncle – it’s gorgeous. Glad you and yours are staying safe. Helen #4
Well that’s a fab brought and cheerful lol, I bet Dutch Dares are thrilled to have you onboard. It would be great if you could teach about your handwritten journaling and all the styles you use, so many people are frightened of using any sort of handwriting on their pages. You’re keeping the atelier clean and tidy I see, and I hope your balcony has helped you enjoy all the sunshine! stay safe dearest!
Great layout for your uncle and I do like your collages. Happy WOYWW Angela #24
Hello Marit!! A lovely page for your uncle!! I love your attitude to the cycle races – I’m the same with most of the tv I watch. I cansee it again because I’vw forgotten the end. Good to hear you are well, Stay safe, stay well, Happy WOYWW Cindy #12
Always lovely to see inspiration take hold. I have to agree with you about Laura Horn she has a lovely way of capturing abstraction and always has such lovely posts on instagram. Stay safe and keep creating.
The layout is fab and I love all the flowers for the background – so bright and pretty, and especially meaningful as your uncle was florist. The collages are great too and it looks like an interesting course.
Hope you have a good week, stay safe and well,

What a gorgeous layout! A real stunner. I do like your collages as well. Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#3)
Groetjes, Nel.
A lovely busy desk, Marit, and some great projects. I do like the collages at the end. I am like you with the cycle races – a lot of things on TV can be watched again because I forget either the end, or the details!
Keep safe and well, and happy belated WOYWW,
