It was my son’s turn last week to choose the themes for these daily drawings and he came up with quite a challenge! The first four prompts were way out of my comfort zone… take a look.
(My drawings are on the left, Nout’s on the right – click to enlarge)
Draw (very schematically) complete figures on a sheet. Try to draw at least 10 different people/figures: someone walking with a bag, or sitting on a bench, it could be anything. Draw each figure with a pen in just a few lines. Think dolls or cartoon-like; those architectural sketches or fashion designs as a source of inspiration.
Now do the same for trees and greenery: sketch different trees and vegetation in schematic / cartoon style. Perhaps a park, a bush? Everything is possible.
Draw an outside or inside situation with buildings around it: a square, a shopping street, a large terrace.
Merge the earlier drawings: you can cut and paste, or redraw. Insert the people (day 1) and the vegetation (day 2) in the situation (day 3). This creates a scene/situation sketch!
Draw a bird
Draw a fictional map
I only started sketching my fictional map and Nout isn’t finished with it either… coming up with, and drawing, a fictional map takes a LOT of time!
I know that ’cause I made one in 2011. Enjoy this oldie…
…and I promise I will publish Nout’s fictional map as an extra when he’s finished it.
Draw a landscape
Thanks for stopping by, we do appreciate your comments!

Zo leuk om dit te bekijken, jullie hebben elk natuurlijk een eigen stijl en aanpak en toch zie ik overeenkomsten. Like mother, like son…
