I never felt much for all those internet-novelties but since I haven’t seen my son & his girlfriend ‘in real live’ for over a year now I came around and we installed a program on my laptop that ables me to video-call him. I’m glad we did: it’s wonderful to not only hear his voice but also be able to look him in the eyes! Last week we talked for over an hour, about all sort of things, and he told me he wanted to pick up drawing again. I, too, had the intention to draw on a more regular base and so we decided to collaborate… we took the Every Day Matters (EDM) list from Danny Gregory’s website as a start and I choose seven topics from that list to work with. We each make one drawing a day (which is quite a challenge on work-days, when I get home late in the afternoon!) and we send each other a photo at the end of the day. We both managed to get it done last week so I thought it would be fun to show you our results.
(My drawings on the left, Nout’s on the right)
EDM #15 – draw a tree or trees, leaves or branches
EDM #16 – draw a favourite tool
EDM #17 – draw a musical instrument
EDM #18 – draw the view from a window of your apartment
EDM #19 – draw something you made
EDM #21 – draw something old, antique or vintage
EDM #22 – draw a piece of clothing
My son choose seven topics to work with next week… let’s see if we can keep it up and if I can publish seven drawings again next week…
Wat een ontzettend leuk idee!!!
Heel leuk! En verrassend.
What an incredibly wonderful way to reconnect with your son, Marit! I love looking at each of your interpretations of Danny Gregory’s prompts! I have FINALLY(!) got a couple of things off to you across the wide Atlantic Ocean, so watch your mail box (they told me at the post office) in 10 to 14 days!
What fun to collaborate with your son. Looks like artistic talent runs in the family. This was a delightful post.
Echt heel leuk, Marit & zoon. Wie weet is mijn schoondochter ook te porren voor zo’n uitdaging. Maar ( nee echt geen afstel) nog heel even wachten, want eerst mijn huis en tuin op de schop.
