Friday haiku and THAT

June 14, 2019 By Marit 9 Comments

Days of rain, days of storm, days of sunshine… I saw it all last week ’cause the weather seemed to change by the hour and before I know it, it’s Friday again: haiku day. I choose this beautiful photo ~ made by my friend Lena Schreijenberg ~ of an empty beach in the early morning, for my haiku.

Friday haiku

rimpelend water
stroomt stilletjes richting zee
om terug te komen
wrinkling water
flows gently towards the sea
to return later

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart.

Some time ago I intended to create a scrapbook-layout more often, because it is so much fun to flip through the albums later and reminisce. I stick to that and created another lay-out last week, using two challenges to get me going.

First was this sketch-challenge, provided by Challenge YOURself

The Dutch Dares scrapbooking group on Facebook challenged me to use a BIG FONT TITLE

and here’s what I created.

The photos of me and my loved one were made by my son back in 2009. I used a stencil and olive-green acrylic paint for the background. The title is made with embossing powder and the phrase goes back twentytwo years and is some sort of a ‘between-us phrase’. It dates from the time my beloved and I’d just met. I think it was me who, when I caught him staring at me, said: ‘what?’ He answered ‘THAT!’ We still say ‘THAT’ to each other 🙂

I wish you all a nice weekend, go say THAT to your loved ones!

Je t’embrasse.

And…this is exactly what water does. Always returns. And the photo…ah. Morning quiet. Feel the soul.
