Friday haiku – bladder wrack (blaaswier)

September 20, 2019 By Marit 7 Comments

Goodmorning lovely ones. It’s another Friday and the air smells like Autumn this morning… a spicy smell that made me chose this photo to write a haiku with…

The photo is made by my friend Lena Schreijenberg

De geur van zeewier
– zoute, zilte lucht – komt vrij
als zo’n blaasje knapt
Smell the bladder wrack
green, salty air is released
when a bubble bursts

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart.

At the moment I am working on a big canvas (60 x 80 cm – 23.5 x 31.5 inch) which will take some time before I finish it. I’m working on it for weeks now… it grows step by step (or ‘transfer by transfer’ so you like…) and the background basic is almost done now.

I have now idea how it will turn out in the end – but I am sure the images will start ‘talking to me’ at some point, and show me the way.

And that’s all I have to show you this week… thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.
Make sure to stick your nose in the air and take a deep smell.
Smell the season.
Smell the crispy air.
Smell the roses,
or the seaweed,
and breath!

I don’t often get to the seashore, but when I do, I’m amazed at the things that wash up on the beach.

We both have been to the ocean and it has been so glorious here. After two summers and falls of brown skies, I do not take one day for granted. Fall is definitely in the air here! Love seeing your WIP, please share with us when it is complete! Have a beautiful weekend my friend! XO

I have only been to the ocean once in my 54 years in this life, but that photo and your words make me feel as if I could reach out and touch the plant.
