Friday haiku: farewell

September 9, 2022 By Marit 5 Comments

In loving memory for Mia van Deijck – my son’s grandmother – who passed away last week.

September nevel
het landschap ademt afscheid
de wereld staat stil
September haze
the landscape breathes farewell
the world stops turning

The landscape breathes farewell. It can certainly feel that way when a loved one passes. At times I have wondered how the world can be so cruel as to continue on.

I do believe that a sigh arises from Nature when a human departs this life. Lovely tribute.

oh marit- your tribute is timeless and filled with deep honoring. the enormity of saying goodbye to a life that once wove their voice and love in and out of your family- is a farewell like no other. it is amazing as we ourselves grow older how many have become “stars” in our nights sky. sending you hugs from the mountains of prescott.
