A grey, quiet Friday morning.
A perfect morning to get sentimental over ancient times,
way back, when there were hero’s in this world.
Men like Frans Naerebout (in English, I can only find this text about Naerebout – the used font makes it a difficult text to read but you can try if you like…)
Friday haiku
Photo made by my friend Lena Schreijenberg
daar staat hij, de held roerloos, gevangen in brons geen redden meer aan |
Hero, he stands there motionless, captured in bronze no saving no more |
I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart.
And I found this collage I made last year.
I never published it before in fact, I totally forgot I created this but it seems to be made to illustrate the photo and haiku.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
Have a great weekend,
go do something nice and inspiring.
Remember an ancient hero.
Go greet a statue.

Yes, the heroes of ancient lore have gone the way of the gods… it is now each one of us, heroes or sheroes of our own journey… I love your collage. A labyrinth of sorts, a nod to Ariadne and her thread… following the life path, that is a journey only for s/heroes… Big hug to you my friend!

Well, the statue is heroic, isn’t it?
