When the geese fly, we know for sure there’s a change in seasons.
in the winter the ponds outside my window fill with ducks from canada. sometimes a noise alarms them and they take to the sky-hundreds of them all at once like a huge wooden spoon whipping the blue sky with all the light reflecting from their wings. suddenly the once blue sky is the color of butter-all that light, all those wings!
