Lately… I’ve been seeing a lot of heron. I think they are mythic. And when they cross my path, like here, I slow down… and listen. So thank you and Lena for this pause and beauty, a meal in itself! Have a beautiful weekend my Zeeland friend. XO

Sometimes the wait for the next meal is long!

there are two peaceful ponds in view from the window. i seek these harbingers of grace and patience. their stillness in the water where it seems they can wait all day for its catch of fish or frog. and when they fly above me their wings expand bringing them overhead so that their epic statue can be realized more fully. these great herons appear with the first days of spring and stay until the first freeze of autumn. i am so grateful for their majesty and for yours here so patient across the sea.
