Hi there! The New Year is well on it’s way and I’m back into swing, but I have ‘something on my mind’ that I’ve been wondering about for quite a while now… so let’s get it out and ask for your opinion…
Are you English speaking? Do you read my blog frequently and would you mind if it was in Dutch, and you had to translate it to be able to read?
I’d love to hear your opinion!

Hallo daar! Het nieuwe jaar is al drie weken oud en de routine van de dagen zit er alweer goed in, maar ik heb al enige tijd een ‘kwestie’ in mijn hoofd waar ik maar niet uitkom… ik weeg de voors en tegens af en het slaat dan weer door naar de ene, en dan weer naar de andere kant… dus ik werp de vraag maar gewoon eens op mijn blog en vraag JOU om je mening:
Spreek jij Nederlands? En zo ja, lees je mijn blogteksten dan in het Engels of ben je daar niet zo goed in, en vertaal je ze dan naar het Nederlands of kijk je alleen naar de plaatjes? Zou jij het fijn vinden als ik mijn blogposts voortaan in het Nederlands schrijf?
Ik hoor graag je mening!

I submit this haiku to Haiku my Heart
My word for 2023 is FOCUS. The (hard to read) text on the page says “Too often I have too many plans to do in the four days that rest after three days on my job. While I’m doing one thing I’m thinking about the next – of course that doesn’t work . I need to focus more.”
Well, that’s some ‘intention’ isn’t it? Anyway, I made this page ‘with focus’. The image is a detail-copy from a page I created in 2015. I edited the photo, printed it in grayscale and reused it on this page.

My phone translates other languages automatically anyway so it wouldn’t matter to me. Do what gives you peace.
Good morning from Missouri USA. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog for years and use Google translator for other blogs without complaint. That being said, sometimes translator doesn’t do a very good job and it gives back nonsense. Either way, it won’t do me from reading.
Oops, that should read “stop”, not “do” there at the end.
I’ve never much trusted google translate etc. but it’s up to you xx

I enjoy reading your blog in English and appreciation that you include the English. I agree that Google translate is not always accurate, but I will still look at the photos of your wonderful work and try to imagine what the haiku in Dutch means.
Voor mij heel graag in het Nederlands! Het kost me veel moeite om alles goed te begrijpen in het Engels! En ik geniet trouwens van al je blogs! blogs………. Ook al weer Engels, wat is er toch mis met onze eigen mooie taal? Ik ben niet tegen “Engels” hoor😊👍
Hoi Marit, ik volg je blog al vele jaren met veel plezier. Ik hou heel erg van je werk en ik ben elke week ook weer benieuwd naar je nieuwe Haiku en de mooie foto van je vriendin. Met Engels heb ik absoluut geen probleem en als je naar het Nederlands zou overschakelen blijf ik je trouw bezoeken 😉 Voor mij maakt het dus niet uit. Misschien een klein aanzetje om over na te denken : mensen drukken zich in hun moedertaal over het algemeen beter uit en dat komt spontaner over.
Ik spreek Nederlands maar ook Engels. Het maakt mij echt niet uit. Volg je eigen pad!
